I saw a Taco Tuesday deal advertised on Instagram at Avocado Fiesta in Merchantville today for 10 mini tacos for $10. Sounded like an amazing deal! I walked up to the counter and asked for the Taco Tuesday deal! I ordered the al pastor, carne asada, and carnita 🌮. The woman at the counter had a pleasant tone and was very nice. After a slight wait, these 4 came out and I just figured they were going to bring me the rest out as I was finishing these off. The meats were tender to the bite and had good flavor. Even the Al Pastor tacos had little bits of pineapple. The verde and red salsa had a nice bite of heat to them. Personally I would had liked a bit more onion and cilantro ontop but that's okay. The tacos were 2 biters and in a short time they disappeared in my big ol belly. I waited about another 20+ minutes and no more tacos came out... I went up and asked if the rest of the 🌮 were coming out and I was told my order only had 4 and was asked if I wanted dessert... I answered no and informed the special I saw on their Instagram was 10 tacos for $10. I was informed those were for the mini tacos and I got the 4 tacos and a can of soda special for $11 and change. This special wasn't advertised in their menu, in the store, or online. I wouldn't even say that I wouldn't recommend Avocado Fiesta, I would just say make sure you are clear as day with what you...
Read moreThis isn't something I normally do. As a chef who has been in this industry for 21 years I can think of a lot of excuses for most places. This time, I just could not abide. Please forgive me, but you need to hear this in order to be better. We didn't dine in so I can't speak to the atmosphere and service. We ordered a few things for pick up and we were mostly disappointed. *We ordered the nachos, the chips were freshly fried (although these chips were fried twice) which was nice but the most flavorful thing on them was the sauce on the quarter pound of lettuce they put on it.
*We ordered the chicken empanadas. They were also bland but they also came with cubed chicken and peas. It's almost as if the filling came from a can of chicken noodle soup.
*We ordered the tacos with pork and pineapple. These tacos were the skinniest I have ever seen. The pork was overdone, dry, and ultimately a chore to eat.
We ordered almost all of their desserts, they were mostly lovely. The flan's flavor profile was spot on but the texture was way off.
I don't know what needs to change but I highly suggest you get it together. Because that could have been an amazing meal. There were a lot of missed...
Read moreNot very Interactive staff and when I have a craving for tacos I want lots of flavor. Everything I had from the taccos to the burrito was incredibly bland. There burrito was jam packed with rice that wasn’t seasoned!!! Oof then it was literally sprinkled with chicken that tasted dry and unseasoned. It was so scarce you could count the little tiny cubes. I paid for a big ball of dough stuffed with carbs that was entirely flavorless. The fries and dessert might have been the savior. I had such a craving too that it was incredibly disappointing. Honestly, a little too disappointed for me to return here again, personally. Could have just been an off day but I’d rather not risk it. Also they took about 30 minutes for our order and there were 2 people in there. So if you’re really hungry this place isn’t very fast. A hangry minute can feel like...
