DoorDash Debacle We had one of those days where no matter how hard we tried, it wasn’t enough to escape the rain cloud following us around. Dinner plans evaporated which lead us to DoorDash and Stateside. The food we received was delicious. We ordered a lamb gyro, pastrami and corned beef with extra meat, Greek salad, and cookies. We received the gyro, Greek salad, and a brownie. No cookies and most importantly no pastrami corned beef with extra meat. Well, on the day we had, it was the sad icing on a sad cake.
We reached out to the DoorDasher for explanation on why the sandwich was missing. She kicked it back to Stateside. When we called Stateside they were closed. It was a $29.00 sandwich. I called Stateaide the next day, a Monday. They were closed again. I left a message. I received a call back this morning. Stateside pulled up the DoorDash order on there tablet, it did not show the sandwich as part of the order. Hmm… As the uploaded photos show, it was ordered and crossed out. Stateside did explain that they run out of items and that the day we ordered may have been a day when pastrami and corned beef were out of stock. Stateside did concede that the price of the sandwich was refunded.
All that to say, I really wanted the sandwich that day or any sandwich that day. Being left with nothing when we expected something was the cut. Stateside had no problem with substituting a brownie for ordered cookies. A second gyro would have gone a long way to show care and empathy. The phone call was at best curt with “I’m sorry you feel that way” and “the sandwich was refunded”. And “is there anything else I can do for you”
I thought the phone call was going to show that Stateside cared. It showed they were obligated to return the call and do the bare minimum. If you can charge $29 for a sandwich and not deliver it, the least you can do is proactively seek understanding and work toward a resolution where each party feels like...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of savoring the Vegan Reuben at Stateside Deli and Restaurant, and let me tell you, it was a truly exceptional experience!
The moment I took my first bite of this vegan masterpiece, I knew I was in for a treat. The vegan “meat” used in the sandwich was incredibly delicious and satisfying, providing a hearty and meaty texture that left me wanting more. The balance of mustard and sauerkraut was spot-on, adding just the right amount of tanginess to complement the flavors perfectly.
What impressed me even more was the bread. It was toasted to perfection, with a delightful crunch on the outside while maintaining a soft and fluffy interior. This attention to detail elevated the entire sandwich, ensuring that every bite was a delightful combination of textures and flavors.
I enjoyed the Vegan Reuben so much that I couldn’t resist going back and ordering another one. It’s rare to find a vegan sandwich that not only replicates the taste and texture of its non-vegan counterpart but also surpasses it in flavor and satisfaction.
Stateside Deli and Restaurant truly understands how to create an exceptional vegan dining experience. Their Vegan Reuben is a testament to their culinary expertise and dedication to providing top-notch vegan-friendly options. Whether you’re a vegan or not, I highly recommend trying this sandwich. It’s a real gem that proves plant-based cuisine can be just as indulgent and satisfying as its traditional counterparts.
Kudos to Stateside Deli and Restaurant for delivering a memorable vegan dining experience with their outstanding Vegan Reuben. I can’t wait to return and explore more of their...
Read moreVery sad to have a bad experience because my husband and so love this place so much. We ordered take out for the first time on the website. It said food would be ready for pick up in 15 mins but when I arrived I was directed to have a seat and my food would be up in a few minutes. Now I understand that they were busy and the wait was no big deal but when I got my order and checked I found it was missing two items and one item was incorrect. When I went back inside there were people in line ahead of me so I had to wait again. No big deal. When the young woman doing take out asked me what the problem was I started by explaining that I did not order ham but asked for sausage. She told me no.. and told me I said NO sausage. I corrected her and when she looked at the “order screen” she changed it up and said I made the mistake. At that point I was just over it- the wait- the fact She wanted to argue it- so I asked for my money back which she refused and said it would be a few minutes to fix my order. I told her by that time my food would be cold not too mention the 15 minute drive home. She still refused a refund so I left the food. I guess I’m out $25 and sadly $5 of that was a tip. I doubt we will come back and I doubt they care they lost a customer. I don’t care so much about the money but it really burns me that this girl will get a tip she did...
