I've never reviewed a business on any format. But today, I'm posting this here and I literally created a yelp account and spent the time to write this on Google that I've never done before just to leave my experience. Never have I ever been inclined to this for any business until now. I have been a super loyal Chicago Connection customer for better part of 20 years. Hell I used to work there as a high school student and it was my first job! I take my relatives there when they are visiting. Ive had a couple pizza parties with my kids there. We have celebrated birthdays with your pizza on our table. I have really stuck with these people. I have 5 very recent experiences in the last 3 months to speak of before I wrote this. I tried speaking to management. It's like speaking to an inanimate object or a robot who just spews a script out. I have a feeling they are numb from all of the complaints. I don't have these same issues when I eat at other locations (special shoutout to the awesome folks on Fairview!). It's this one, just to be very clear. The first experience of the 5 took place on a non-winter day. My delivery time was estimated to be 50 minutes tops. I ordered a chicken and pineapple pizza. I got this pizza after 1 hour 40 minutes. And it was slathered in jalapeños and bacon. The second experience I got a pizza that literally was so raw the entire middle was raw dough. The third time I finally scored an awesome pizza. Go team. I felt like I won the freaking lottery! So I ordered again! My pizza was black burnt. Someone actually had the audacity to send me black crispy pizza. Because I haven't wasted enough money, I ordered yet again last night. More raw dough. The tomato sauce in the center was so freshly cold that it separated from its own water content and flooded the center of my pizza. The dough was so undercooked, that the pizza had zero structure. It was an uncontrollable floppy mess. Despite my complaints 4 out of 5 of my last orders, management has yet to address these issues instead just trying to buy me off with free pizza. What is your problem here?! If it's happening this frequently with me that means it's happening with your other customers as well. Your pizza is expensive. Arguably the most expensive in the entire region and yet you can't maintain quality standards to justify that cost. You've lost a loyal customer of TWO DECADES. The type of customer of who once insisted on eating your pizza and getting into pizza arguments with my loved ones when we were all hangry and fighting about where to eat because I loved your pizza that much. Shame. Shame for your business to watch such decay occur. I don't want free pizza. I want a quality pizza that justifies the several thousand dollars I've spent in the last 20 years in your business. The last 5 experiences have cost me well over $250 with your delivery fees and tipping someone to bring me raw/burnt/completely not what I ordered pizza. Do you have any idea how many hours I have to work to earn that much?! I'm no doctor or lawyer over here. For the love of god I hope someone with actual authority reads this and uses it as a learning experience for your staff and that includes your management at...
Read moreChicago Connection in Boise is a solid pick for anyone craving deep-dish pizza, which is easily the star of their menu. The pizza is rich, filling, and everything you’d hope for in a classic deep dish. They don’t skimp on toppings, and the flavors are bold, with just the right amount of sauce, cheese, and a satisfyingly thick crust. Their unique combinations keep things interesting, and even their simple pepperoni and cheese packs a punch. It's clear that they know how to deliver on the deep-dish experience that keeps us coming back.
However, the dine-in experience could use some improvement. The interior feels a bit worn and dated, with some areas that could really use a refresh. While it doesn’t affect the quality of the pizza, it does slightly dampen the overall vibe. The atmosphere doesn’t quite match the quality of the food, so if you’re planning to eat here, keep in mind it’s more about the pizza than the decor.
Service-wise, Chicago Connection is a mixed bag. The staff is generally friendly, but things can get slow during peak hours, and sometimes it feels like they’re stretched a little thin. Orders might take a while, and there can be a bit of a wait for refills or extra napkins. For those who are patient, the pizza is definitely worth it, but it’s not the place if you’re in a rush.
All in all, Chicago Connection nails it on the deep-dish front, and it’s a great spot for pizza lovers who don’t mind a relaxed, no-frills setting. Just be prepared for a casual experience that’s heavy on flavor and a little lighter on...
Read moreI would personally give zero stars to this location. I got to the location at 2:46pm. Once we enter in the location it has body odor smell to it not food at all. I was going to leave right there but decided to give it a shot since I normally like Chicago connection. The gentleman asked us if we wanted booth or table. We said booth. He asked us we need anything to drink which we did. We received our drinks then no one came back to the booth. My fiencee at 2:56pm went to the desk to let the person know what we wanted to order. No one was present at the desk. With our two drinks that was already finished again no service. We decided to leave around 3:05pm to the desk again no one was present. 3:08pm comes around debating on if I want to call the establishment of Chicago connection to have someone to give us the check for the two drinks that we consumed. Finally two min later the man that sat us at the booth told us that he was busy on the phone making phone calls. This is the worse first impression at a location that I have experience in a long time. We observed people at the table and booth having no drinks or waiting patiently for something they asked. most of all the employees were going at snail pace. We seen people that had long hair that had no hair nets that came does to their shoulder or longer. This has to be a health code violation.
In short, this was a very awful experience at a beloved pizza chain. We will not be...
