We tried this for the first time yesterday. Here was what we thought while eating. We ordered half subs, one french dip and one turkey blt to go and a side of fries. Pros: Excellent quality ingredients, the bread is amazing; a half sub is huge. We only could eat half of each of our halves saving the other half. We ordered in store and it took a very short time to get our order. Great service and clean inside! They came with a bag of chips, a nice extra. I reheated my leftover later and it heated nice in the air fryer. The subs are wrapped in foil, not paper or plastic. When asked if they could accommodate a person with disability that can't walk by running a paid order to the car, they said it was no problem at all. Just call upon arrival. This helps! Cons: App is not too inviting. Well designed and easy to navigate, but you have to sign in each time (we were on the go and could not remember the password; there is no face ID or save password option) and if you start your order early then go back to finish it, it is gone and you must start over. This is a problem if you are ordering for someone not around you at the time. The fries were great tasting and not drenched in salt, rather generous in portion (enough for 2-3 people). However they got rather soggy on the two mile trip home and we had to put them in the air fryer for a few minutes to crisp them back up. For a 'blt' sub, there was very little bacon. More turkey sub with bacon. The bottom of the bread turned mushy from the heat, so I peeled mine off as it was too soggy. The top was great. But I could not eat the bottom. Conclusion: We will be back soon, allowing for new business start up challenges. I look forward to the app improvements they are working on. It is nice to have a small business, good quality deli close to home. 5-31-24 we tried the pizza. Pro was no grease at all and good dough. But otherwise, it was terrible. Almost burnt. Their idea of bacon is large slices of Canadian bacon under everything. There was...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been eye balling this joint for the last year and today I finally got to try it out. It is conveniently next to Rocky Mountain High school so it was the perfect dinner after tonight's wrestling matches.
I walked in around 7:30 tonight. The place was empty. Nobody was upfront so I just checked out the menu board. A worker did finally make it to the register. Being it was my first time there, I was really unfamiliar with their sandwiches. I asked a couple questions and dude wasn't a lot of help. His mono tone approach to helping me made me feel uncomfortable, like I was bothering him. I should have just left but I went a head and ordered anyways.
I grabbed the whole Steak and Everything sandwich without the Everything for my husband. I got the half portion for myself. I added some chipotle ranch to mine.
The whole sandwich is no joke! The size of the sandwich could feed 2 to 3 people. It was hot, the cheese was melty and the steak was tender. My sandwich was huge as well for a half size. There were bright pieces of green pepper, mushrooms and banana peppers. I really wanted to like my sandwich. It lacked flavor. Even though it had the chipotle ranch on it, it didn't do much for the sandwich. The peppers, mushrooms and onions needed some seasoning on it. It tasted like steamed veggies on cheese and steak. I did add some salt and pepper but it was still very one noted. The bread was nice and soft. The banana peppers did add some nice acidity to the sandwich and the steak was very tender on my sandwich. As much stuff there was on the sandwich, it just didn't hit for me.
I'm not in this area a lot but I'm happy I got to try it out. It wasn't the best experience but maybe my next visit will have a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe had lunch here for the first time and were very impressed with the food quality/freshness, pricing, selection, beverages (including beer!!) as well as the service. This is NOT a fast food joint. I would even label it "The UN-Franchise Franchise". For a start-up restaurant, these guys are definitely on the right track. They also don't have "designer-pizza prices", so if you're looking for a 6", $30 pizza, this place is not for you. They were also thinking ahead with their ample dining space that includes one of those industrial-style rollup doors to their huge patio! I even mentioned to Dan, the owner, that it would be a great venue for live music! He was already ahead of me on that idea, so stay tuned (pardon the pun) for some live entertainment at some point. Hey, you may even see Eagle's "The Blue Sky Band" perform there one day (yes, that was a shameless plug) ;-) We highly recommend Papa Kelsey's, so go check them out next time...
