It was quiet when I walked in about 12:30. However soon there was a few phone orders coming in, and then approximately 6 more people walked in after I sat down. It's in what I call a strip mall, but there's plenty of seating room. Nice inside with simple chairs and tables. Really nice order counter area where you can clearly see all the available ingredients. I told the counter gal I was excited to try my 1st ever sushi burrito. I already know I love poke and it was hard not to order that. I haven't had a big poke bowl in over 2 years! She told me which of the rolls were the ones people order most often. I went with one of them which was the "Chef's Burrito". It comes with Yellowtail, spicy crab, shrimp tempura, avocado, cucumber, masago, green onion, spicy mayo, and Eel sauce. The wait for the roll was not long and the gal brought it over to me. It's about the size of a traditional Mexican burrito but maybe not as thick, but at my first bite I was so wowed. It's essentially a huge sushi roll. The shrimp were perfect, cooked fresh and had that wonderful gentle shrimp taste & texture when the fish is fresh and not overcooked. Nice gentle crunch from the tempura. (Now I know why she said another of their most popular rolls is called The Shrimp Lover.) Healthy slices of avocado, thinly sliced cucumber that I know it was there, you can see it in the photos against the nori, lots of perfectly spicy crab, and pieces of Yellowtail. The amount of spicy heat was just right that it hardly hits you, but I could have handled more. Sriracha fan here! My other critique would be more Yellowtail. Lots of shrimp which was great as again they were excellent. I could happily eat here for every lunch! I was just the right amount of full for lunch. Where you could go back to work without being stuffed. However for dinner I'd eat 2. So I'd say the amount of food was almost equivalent to about 2, maybe 3 traditional sushi long rolls. The roll was $12.95 and with tax was $13 something. Yeah....I should have ordered another one! I just thought of a "Pro tip". Leave the wrapper rolled around the end of the burrito. Because as you are mowing down that wonderful deliciousness, as you get to the last few bites of course the nori loses control of its job in keeping things together. Leaving the wrapper on the end helps to keep it a bit more civilized to eat the last few bites. I messed up the 1st half and had to go semi-feral cavewoman on the last few bites out of the palm of my hand. But regained control of myself to eat the 2nd half with a bit more class. LOL Highly recommend and I didn't see where anyone else has reviewed this place in this group using the search option. Beyond the burrito and poke, they have vegetarian options, good selection of drinks and free cold water, several appetizers, soups, and teriyaki plates. Upon further research they also own Umi Japanese Shabu Shabu also located in Meridian. Which features AYCE for an...

umai is mine and my mans favorite place to order food! usually, i order katsu chicken and my man orders the regular bowl (3 scoops of fish) and we absolutely love it! every meal is always consistent, the meat is very tender and juicy, the meals are very affordable for a large portion! it’s so delicious, fresh, you can tell it’s made with love. it’s not that frozen re microwaved stuff that gives you a stomach ache, it’s fresh and fulfilling and you feel good after 🤍 today i doordashed the beef noodle soup, and ohhh my umai! it is very tasty! they even make sure to package the liquid in a separate container so your noodles don’t get soggy if you doordash or to go :’) i took these pics before pouring the liquid part on top, and just look how beautifully they plated this! umai never fails to fulfill all of our cravings! very kind staff too and cute inside dining

Wow, so glad I found this place! Food was excellent. We opted for the sushi burritos, which were sooo good. Looking forward to coming back and trying other items on the menu, as well. Customer service was also excellent. Called in a carryout order 30 minutes before closing, and the person who answered the phone was helpful, courteous, and accommodating. Decided to order another item when I arrived (closer to closing time), and they were still just as courteous and accommodating. Also, cleanliness and environment were excellent. Very clean space, and I especially appreciate that the person in front handling the food containers was wearing gloves and a mask. Thank you so much for caring about the health of your customers and staff in December 2022!! Although this place is a little out of the way for us, we will still be adding it to our regular rotation. Well worth the few...
