A bit of backstory: this last Saturday I did UberEats and had them deliver from the location by BSU. Then, that same night, it sounded so good that I had to order it again, through UberEats. Both times it was really good. So that said, with the craving, I hit this location up.
So first off, from the outside it is open and bright. Looked good. Normally the staff of these places tend to be Asian and are often family. The two teenage boys were as non-Asian as you could imagine and were polite and attentive. I did see an Asian man cooking, take that as a stereotype if you wish.
I placed my order, which was the same as Saturdays orders, spicy chicken, extra meat, with just greens and no rice. The chicken is thighs (You can order breast meat if you like) and grilled, which I feel teriyaki should be. The veggies are cooked and perhaps sat just a bit longer than I usually like, but not a big deal.
And as this weekend, everything was great. I suppose that although I ate as a dine in customer they served in the same container that I received over the weekend. Although it is a bit smaller than I am used to getting, I had no problems with it as well. The chicken was well cooked, had just a bit of char, the sauce was great and with double meat I got a good amount.
Back to the restaurant itself, it is bright and airy. The walls had kitschy stuff on them instead of some kind of Japanese stuff. It was pretty clean, there were no funky smells, and it is really nice. They were moderately busy with a couple of people waiting when I ordered, more people getting stuff while I dined, and yet more arriving when I left.
I have been to two of these chain stores and received food from a third. I rather like this one, but want to order to dine in from BSU store sometime as well. Good chain with fast service and a...
Read moreThe food was great as always, I love the fact that this location has a lot of seating. Unfortunately when I arrived there were 3 people that walked in with me at the same time none of us were greeted. There were 2 young ladies working 1 was putting together plates with sauces and making bubble tea and the other was printing table receipts. Once she was done she walked right through those of us who were waiting didn't say anything. Finally the other gal turned around to us and started taking orders, the 3 that came in with me were ordering to go and I was staying. After waiting in line as long as I did I was told to have a seat she would send my waitress with a menu. I ordered, my order was Chicken Breast Teriyaki an order of Gyoza and a Thai Tea with no tapioca. My waitress brought me a glass off water, the other girl brought the Gyoza, my waitress brought me my food about 10 minutes after that but still no Thai Tea. This whole time I'm watching my waitress deliver and refill drinks for other customers, finally when I'm about halfway done with my meal my waitress comes by and says "What kind of Tea did you want?" I tell her once again even though she could've looked at my ticket, she brings me my Tea and I go to take a drink and it has tapioca in it I look for my waitress I don't see her until I'm ready to walk out the door. By this time the other girl has brought me my ticket asked me if I would like to refill my water, I said no but could I get a different Thai Tea with no tapioca since it was made wrong, I was told not really were not supposed to do that. I looked at my ticket left my money and left, there was no goodbye, no thank you or have...
Read moreI’m genuinely disappointed with the customer service tonight. We ordered more than $50 worth of food online, and when I arrived to pick it up at 5:45 (the time the order was scheduled for), I was told that the kitchen was still working on it, but that they would bring it over to me as soon as it was ready. 20 minutes go by, and I finally go back to the counter to ask if they were still working on it—turns out they had set it on the DoorDash rack and it was just sitting there, getting cold. Had I not said something, they also would’ve left my tea sitting in the freezer. They had completely forgotten I was there. Had the store been busy, I would be a little more understanding, but the boys behind the counter had practically nothing going on—no other customers and no apparent side work to keep them busy. I work in a restaurant and I’ll be the first to say that sometimes things happen, but not calling out to-go orders when there are people in the store waiting for them is frankly unacceptable. I mentioned the fact that the food had just been sitting there to the boys behind the counter, and they didn’t seem to care. The food was decent, but the “vegetables” were basically just cooked cabbage—no carrots or broccoli to speak of. For the price, I...
