Had to take away a star. This was my favorite Waffle House in Meridian until yesterday. I was really ignored like no one wanted to wait on me. I should have left but, having been here many times before I hoped it would be a fluke. I was starting to become a regular customer here.
It took a waiteress that was not even in my section to take my order & call it to the cook. After this it was still several minutes before my waiteress decided to shuffle over & actually write my order on a ticket.
I received half of my order. I decided to just eat, not cause a scene, and then just not pay for what I did not eat.
The waiteress who was not mine once again checked with me and she new I was still waiting on the rest of my order. I finally got my complete order.
This Waffle House usually has a friendly, efficient staff. It is why I liked to eat here. I really do not think I'll go back here & other Waffle House restaurants are out of my way.
Yesterday's visit...

Then took our orders incorrectly even after I pointed out what I wanted and clearly stated it as did my boyfriend. Upon bringing it to her attention she acted as if we were in the wrong and bothering her. She mocked me across the room with a coworker because she had to correct my order. I have studied in the field of Hotel/Restaurant Hospitality Technology and earned my certifications as well therefore I can assure you that your "service skills" were demeaning and outright uncalled for and probably the reason why your night shift turnover rate is so high. When a customer wants a to-go box, you don't look down at them like they just insulted you and then repeat it like you can't believe we want to leave. The establishment is wonderful, the food is great, your server on the other hand needs more training in hospitality and...

I explained to the waitress I watched my food given to 3 brothers that came in after me, she rolled her eyes and stopped talking to me. I then told her that if I wasn't welcome then just tell me. She laughed and said "crackers shouldn't be in this area of town no how". I live one block away. For the record a "cracker" is a political term for migrant workers and hasn't been used...
