Hungry Howie's Pizza — Restaurant in Mesa

On July 1st we placed an order and after more than an hour (estimated delivery was 40 minutes) we called for an update, to which we were told the store was waiting for Doordash to pick it up. They told us they could cancel the DoorDash order and we could come get it, but we decided to wait a little longer to see if DoorDash would pick it up. After 15 or so more minutes, we called back, and DoorDash still hadn’t picked it up, so we decided to go pick up our order. The manager(?) on duty told us he would hold the order and cancel the DoorDash pick up. I drove down to the store, and when I got there, they could not find my order. It turns out DoorDash had just picked it up and they let it go instead of holding it like they said. It’s a good thing that I went down there though, because my order was missing items. The pizza was cut by someone with blurred vision I’m guessing as the pieces were haphazard and nonsensical. Both employees that were there, though totally nice, seemed extremely high, and therefore we’re not able to provide any decent customer service. I drove down there to pick up the order thinking it wasn’t going to be delivered, but they let it get picked up anyway, and I still paid for delivery even though they said they were going to cancel it. And they didn’t even bother apologizing! Just an absolute terrible experience. I sent a complaint and was told I would be contacted. It’s been an entire month and I’ve called and emailed and, tho I keep being told someone will contact me, not a single word from anyone in charge. This place...

There are two people in particular that I feel should be recognized, because no business can function without good management- Sarah is the absolute most respectful, personable, kind, professional, and impactful person. She made me and my wife’s experience a really really pleasant and enjoyable one. Secondly, Andrew is the coolest person you’d ever want to meet and maybe I shouldn’t say this but if you ever order from Hingry Howies ask if he’s there- he’s the manager, and when I say nobody makes a pizza this good - omg !!! Not only was the pizza just like the one advertised but it was even better looking and tasting too - his cinnamon sticks are absolutely beautiful too - a true artist I tell you, and his personality makes you feel like family even tho you’re ordering a pizza. The restaurant is always clean, the staff is always kind and the place is ran wonderfully. Even if there ever was a shortcoming it’s be overlooked because the good greatly outweighs any puny shortcomings! We had a terrible experience. Ordered through Their website and scheduled a delivery for 6pm. Apparently they use door dash for delivery, the dasher text me at 5:55 that he was there but my order wasn't ready yet. At 640 the dasher contacted me again to say hungry howies lost my order and that the workers walked out on the manager. I tried to call the store but no one answered. A little after 7 I drove to the store, the manager said they were having employee issues and that she couldn't find my order but would make it. I showed her my confirmation email and requested a refund. She told me she couldn't give me a refund since she doesnt have my order & she would call me the next day. The next day I called the store again, the District manager answered. She found my order, apologized and offered to either make my order or refund me my kids still wanted to try it so we picked up our food at 6pm that night. We had to request a refund for the $5 delivery fee and $10 tip that was already paid.
