Stopped here after a long day on the Salt River and getting caught in a monsoon on the river, needless to say we were HUNGRY and ready to get some grub. First impression visually, it’s a got a lot of sports memorabilia and jerseys hanging around the place, and of course reminded me of some spots back home in Chicago. The menu is pretty big, but good big, we loved that there were so many great choices! When we walked up to the counter a young lady by the name of Roxi, took care of us, this was the only part of my experience that was negative, she did t know anything about their food, I asked her several questions the first of which was “Are your lobster rolls good?” To which she responded, “ I don’t know, I’ve never had one” which ok I can understand that one, but the next one baffled me. We ordered a lobster roll with the sriracha aioli on the side, a basket of Garlic fries and 2 burgers. When ordering I had asked what the Matty’s sauce tasted like, to which she said once again “ I don’t know” and stopped there, I looked at her with a puzzled look and said “what do you mean? Is it like ketchup, bbq, mustard, mayo, a combination of those, sweet, savory?” She looked at me like she could care less if I understood what the sauce tasted like and said “I really don’t know.”. Normally I have trouble with keep my mouth closed when there’s bad service like this and speak my mind to the employee themself simply because she could have grabbed a cook to talk to me about the lobster roll, she could have grabbed a dab of the sauce for me to try if she truly didn’t know, SOMETHING, she had options to promote the restaurant in a positive way. But chose to do nothing. I held my tongue, and finished ordering my food and went to find a table. It was nice out, so we opted to sit on the patio, this is the part where I take a star for the atmosphere, every table outside was filthy with like caked in dirt like they hadn’t been cleaned in a long time, and if that was from the storm that passed through there 5hrs prior, IT WAS 5HRS AGO, there was definitely time to clean them between then and when we arrived, I presumed this was also part of Roxi’s duties as well, I refused to let this ruin my evening though lol. I grabbed some napkins and splashed some of my water on the table and gave it a wipe down…it was gross. Roxi walked up to us and told us that the lobster roll would be about 15-20 minutes and asked “do you really want to wait that long?” I looked at her and said yes and walked away to the table. Food came out, first off those Garlic fries are in my top 3 fries I’ve ever consumed- and I’ve consumed A LOT of different fries lol- they were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft, moist, and fluffy on the inside, the garlic was just right, I would have added a bit more parm if it were me, but still amazing nonetheless the less, A+ on the fries. Then the cook came out and we tried the lobster roll next (which only took 5min to prepare btw), the cook was more polite and courteous than Roxi, asking us if we’d like a knife to cut the sandwich and brought back a knife and napkins for us, but this is where you lost a star for the food, the lobster roll was amazing, let’s start there. The garlic butter was awesome on it, the star lost is because every single one of their lobster rolls is served with one of several flavors of aioli without an option for a traditional lobster roll. I was happy I chose to put the aioli on the side as neither of us thought the aioli was good in the roll. Burgers were GREAT! Juicy, tender, DELICIOUS.
A few things from this trip that I’d like to say to the owners Great decor! Great food! Please hire people for your front counter that actually care about working there. I’m going to try the location closer to Phoenix, but probably won’t come back to this one on Brown because customer service goes a LONG...
Read moreI heard great things about this place so I finally had an opportunity to go try it. It went by myself after a long day, hoping for a nice quiet meal. When I got there, they were not very busy so I figured I'd get my meal fairly quickly since I just ordered one burger and sweet potato fries. However I ended up waiting over 30 minutes for my meal. After waiting almost half an hour, a girl came out and told me they had a mistake and they had to make my burger again. So I just waited more. I could see the cooks in the back and one was eating a burger while I sat waiting for my own. Then I saw the cook put my meal out to be served, yet it just sat there with nobody getting it or showing any signs of getting it. I finally had to go in and ask if that was my meal just sitting there. It was. And instead of being able to enjoy my meal in peace at a table, I had to take it to go because I was expected somewhere soon after. So I ate my food rushed and not as warm as I had liked. It was good food though. I wish I could've enjoyed and savored it a little more. If I ever come again (not sure I want to) I'd probably get one that has pepper jack cheese or something else with a bit more flavor to it. My husband can't have gluten so I don't know if I'll come back unless they ever have GF options. I don't really want to come again if I will be disappointed like this...
Read moreMy family of 4 recently dined at this restaurant, and the experience was disappointing, primarily due to poor management and subpar service, despite the high cost of $90+. The food was decent but not exceptional, falling short of expectations for the price.
We encountered an issue when trying to order from the kids' menu for my 13-year-old daughter, who eats smaller portions to avoid food waste. The restaurant enforced strict age restrictions, denying us this option without flexibility. While I understand policies, the staff's rude response to our request set a negative tone.
Service throughout the meal was lackluster. The staff, while not necessarily at fault, appeared undertrained, contributing to an unwelcoming atmosphere. For instance, we were charged extra for a small 2 oz portion of BBQ sauce requested on the side, which felt petty given the meal's cost. The restaurant's cleanliness was also substandard, with the bathrooms being particularly dirty and lacking paper towels.
Overall, the experience was poorly managed, overpriced, and left much to be desired. While the food was good, it wasn't remarkable enough to offset the numerous...
