Went to New Golden China Restaurant in Mesa/Apache Junction today to meet my son for lunch. The front of house was clean and there was only one other customer when I arrived. It was a good thing I got there when I did because just after I ordered, 7 or 8 tables filled up with 1, 2 or 4 guests at each one. I was told by Eric, my server, to have a seat anywhere. I choose a booth but the seat was in pretty bad shape and I was actually 2 to 3 inches lower than the table. I quickly choose a table instead. The table and chairs are heavy duty wood and a rich dark brown color. Eric took my drink order and quickly returned with it. I asked him about a couple of their dishes and he explained them to me in detail. I ordered the Mo Tofu which is mixed vegetables and tofu in a brown sauce. My son had the veggie fried rice, without the egg, and with tofu. Both were delicious. Their tofu is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The portions are fairly large and I had to get a doggie bag. The drinks are very good as well. The prices are reasonable, just a little over $20 for two large meals. I'll definitely return when I'm back in the area.

I wouldn't have eaten here if I read the reviews first. I'll say the young boy waiter doesn't rub off as the friendliest but takes care off you. The amount of food floor the price I'll call reasonable. I drive a semi truck so I'm more forgiving on price as I eat at a lot of places around the US. I would return here without thinking. I got the BoBo appetizer then pork lomein added 6 shrimp. I had left overs to take home as I posted in picture.

We had to try this hole in the wall right around the corner from where we live, and I gotta say we weren't disappointed. We walked in and sat down, ordered and the food was delicious. Will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu. Nice place for you and the wife just to sit and talk and have good food.

Not that great. Tried to order online, place opens at 11 am but online service won't put in first delivery until 12:30 pm. Called and man was very nice though communication barrier, in letting me do a delivery order at around 11 am. Food was delivered quickly, said 30 min on phone and knock on door like 20 minutes after I hung up. All food was hot. Asked delivery driver for chopsticks he said I had to ask when ordering. Was given no fork or utensils. Ordered Shrimp and snowpeas with fried rice entree, lemon chicken entree, 1 chicken eggroll and the raspberry tea. Total around $26 with delivery fee and tax. Tipped the driver 5 bucks as he was fast. Got 2 soy sauces, a sweet and sour sauce and 2 fortune cookies. Wish they'd taken more time as the veggies in the shrimp dish weren't fully cooked. I don't just mean al dente but raw mushroom that looked old and bruised, snowpeas totally crunchy and the thin sliced carrot completely raw. Also there were maybe 7 regular sized shrimp (thankfully fully cooked) set onto all the veg. Chunks of nasty garlic tasted from a jar. Sauce was less than mild in flavor. Unimpressive, bland, uninspired, undercooked and skimped on the shrimp for a $12 entree. Fried rice also uncooked, overloaded in uncooked peas and bits of green onion alot of which included the white of the green onion. Lemon chicken was made with frozen beer battered type chicken and smelled of fish from the fryer oil. Sauce for lemon chicken was watery, hardly any flavor and just like pouring a weak lemon tinted substance on greasy nuggets. No fresh broccoli or actual lemon included. White rice also undercooked with actual crunchy bits. Eggroll also a frozen item and un impressive. Over all don't waste your money. Seems like they were once a decent place but since succumbed to cheaper pre made foods, cooks that don't cook and just penny pinching and the quality of the food is now blah. I won't order from them again. Don't waste your money. I've had worse and seems they are quickly headed there. The tea was good but I tend to like sweet things. Over priced for the...

First time trying this place and I can admit when I'm defeated. I ordered entirely too much food. (25$ per person) I've got food for the next day and a half. I got fried rice teriyaki chicken orange chicken and beef and broccoli and every last bit is delicious. I'm having trouble deciding what to eat next and I have barely made a dent in it! The fried rice is the best I've ever had, orange chicken isn't how I thought it was gonna be which has been a delightful surprise. Beef and broccoli is in a sauce that's delicious plus it actually tastes like beef and broccoli not just one mixed flavor.... Then the teriyaki chicken I was told wasn't the best and they were absolutely WRONG! That stuff it off the chain especially on a bed of the fried rice. I spent nearly 60$ and I am absolutely satisfied knowing we've got food for the next day or two and its ALL good 😊 couldn't be happier right now and I even had a terrible day. Great food solved that 😂 will be going there...
