Hello, Just went to this store that I eat at quite often, it was 4:45PM when I arrived. I ordered one large chicken bowl to go. When I sat down there was only two other people in the store eating at the time and one girl who worked their sitting at the bar area that looked like had not started her shift yet. I sat there waiting for my meal and a married couple with two babies came in, ordered, sat across from me, got there food and started eating. I am not a controversial person so I didn't say anything, just waited for my food. A 1/2 hour later this family finished their entire meal and left. The girl working the front area was just bs'ing with the girl who hadn't started her shift yet the entire time I was waiting, at one point the cook called her over to show her something on her phone. I had noticed two bags of food sitting RIGHT THERE when she handed her the phone and she looked at whatever it was, laughed and went back to talking to the other girl. Once the family left I finally said, "When will my food be ready?" The girl asked me my name, mind you I am the ONLY person in the restaurant now as I waited on the family to leave before I said anything as to not make a scene. I told her my name and she looked at the bags I saw earlier and said "Oh here you go". I asked how long was this sitting there and she responded just a minute. I then said "I find that hard to believe, a family that came in after me just sat down and ate an entire meal before you gave me my to go order". The only response I received was "Sorry about that". When I got to my house my food was warm but not hot, usually when I get home it is steaming hot from this place as I live two blocks away, that in itself told me how long it was really sitting there.
This is the 2nd time now I was forgotten about at this store. The first time it was super busy and I didn't say anything, the girl working realized I hadn't received my food and came over, apologized, gave me a card for a free meal my next visit, and got the food for me. That is what customer service is supposed to do when they make a mistake.
This was very dis-heartening and frankly I will not go back, I have no time or patience for that kind of terrible...

To start with, the waitress did not put in our order correctly when we wanted tofu spring rolls. She ordered chicken ones and then complained and protested against us asking for the vegetarian option we originally wanted. When we finally got her to take the chicken wraps away and the order replaced, she decided to spend a long time with the other waitresses and sushi "chefs" complaining about vegetarian customers. The two boys working at the sushi bar then went and gossiped about us to the rest of the staff. This went on the entire meal.
Another waitress accidentally spilled water all over two people in my party. It came from a water cup from another table. This water spilled into half of our meals as well. The waitress merely stared at us and did not know what to do. We had to ask her to get us more napkins and to replace our meals. This created more complaints within the staff and more horrible things said about me and my group.
Moving onto the food! The meals were all watery, bland, and overall disgusting. They basically squirted on a little tiny bit of sauce onto food that was doused in water. At our table there were both meat eaters and vegetarians and everyone had disgusting food. It made us all sick, causing severe stomach cramps and vomiting.
The rest of the problems with this place were that they had no lids for their cups, they took forever to clean up messes, and it was quite obvious that the staff was under trained and had no experience or understanding on how to do their job. The only good part of this trip was that the manager was kind and experienced.
I will never go back to this place again. I recommend that no one...
Read moreThis was our first time at Tokyo Joe's. We happen to be in the area looking for something to eat. The inside was nice. It had some some Japanese decor. They also had different types of seating indoor as well as outdoor.
It was Sunday afternoon, and the restaurant wasn't busy. We weren't sure what to order but a customer recommended their signature bowls on the menu. We took her advice and we were hopeful that the food was going to be really good as she described. We ordered the Thai Noodle bowl.
Here you place your order and they bring the food to you. They had fountain drinks and other beverages. After we placed our order we sat outside, but some of those tables were not cleaned. We made the best and sat at the one that seemed the cleanest. It was really a nice day and we just wanted to enjoy the food outside.
They brought our food over along with napkins, sauces and silverware and seasoning. Chopsticks are available inside if you prefer to eat with them.
The staff that brought our food and the person that took our order were amazing and nice and sweet. They do have a bathroom inside which I did not use but the person with me did. In my opinion, the food was just okay. I don't think I would return but it is a place that I can see other people enjoying. Like I said the food is not terrible but it's not what we were expecting. But you should give it a try as it wasn't a bad option as fast food. Because this is a Japanese spot. I was hoping they had ramen noodle soup but they didn't. They do have a lot of options for sushi. I would have tried it had I not wanted...
