Firehouse Subs Mesquite Town Center — Restaurant in Mesquite

Jose made sweet tea and when he threw away the sugar bag his hand slid against the stainless of the trash basket. I was standing about 6 ft from him and he just kept working in the tea without proper hygiene. When I brought it to his attention he said "oh yeah" and took his gloves off. He then started to use the same bowl of sugar and spoon he just touched with dirty trash hands to make the tea. I told him that the spoon and bowl were dirty and he tried to say he didn't touch the trash. I told him I saw you, you know you did. He went to the back and got new gloves and went back to the line to make sandwiches. About 5 minutes later Jade came over to finish the tea. I asked her if it was a different spoon & bowl to where she said it was a new spoon but he only touched the rim of the bowl and she can't just throw away a whole package of sugar. I said "ok, when you pour that sugar/tea mixture into the new batch of tea won't it touch the rim? Jade took a deep breath & her shoulders fell then she said no because I got a new bowl. Mind you the bowl doesn't look like it had the sugar with a small portion of tea had been transferred to a new bowl and if it was like she said, although she was obviously lying because she had already said she only got a new spoon previously, then the sugar tea mixture would still be touching the rim where Jose's trash laden hands touched. The place is filthy. Trash on the floor and gunk caked on the drink dispenser like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. Photos don't do the issues here justice and I accidentally deleted the ones with napkins, trash and tape all over the floor. Then Jose walked behind the counter and started talking trash to a fellow employee like I couldn't hear. The employee & Jose kept looking at me & laughing. I now have a tea I know I cannot drink and a sandwich I'm afraid to eat. I didn't from the tea, but are my sandwich. I have never been more sick in my life. I couldn't even hold down water. They had to have done something to my sandwich & why they thought it was so funny. For a little over a week I couldn't even drink water. They used their job as a form of biological warfare. If this is their standards in plain sight, I can't fathom what they'll do behind closed doors. When I got home I called the restaurant location to get corporates number & Jose said he didn't know what the number was & offered no further assistance. I then asked him to look it up, then Jade came in the phone and asked "you do have your receipt, don't you?" in a condescending tone. Be sure to know I'm calling after I submit this Google review. This is absolutely unacceptable sanitary conditions and horrible customer service: not to mention a waste of time and money! Stay away if you care what goes in your body and don't want unhygienic people touching your food We will not be dining here again. Update: corporate didn't care. 1 star for the manager aley/On sept 15, 2016 I ordered a small meatball sandwich with 2 extra meatballs. The young man took the order told the manager aley I requested extra 2 meatballs as she prepared it. When I got it there were no extra meatballs, I ate it anyway and it was great. I asked her name she said aley, then I asked why I didn't get my order of 2 extra meatballs. She replied you were not charge for them so you didn't get them with a negative tone. I said I was going to fill out a review and let people know about her so I believe she needs additional training to fulfill customers orders as they order and if she can't for some reason Inform the customer like a true professional. Bottom line the food has been great the 6 times we have had ate there and she has been Rude both times we've seen her there. Also she had bread on the floor putting stocking the lower shelve and the men's room had no paper towels for employees and customers to dry...

We used to frequent Firehouse Subs in Mesquite since they opened until........their employee was rude about me ordering a sandwich how I wanted it. I am the customer, if I want a sandwich a specific way then you should accommodate me. I wasn't asking for extra of anything or to have a discount for reducing my order to one meat instead of two. I mentioned I come to this location like twice a week so I know basically what I want and he sarcastically replied, I am here 6 days a week. Okay?!?!
