Saltgrass Steak House — Restaurant in Mesquite

If I could give zero stars, I would. Saltgrass is the absolute worst steakhouse over here. Dont waste your time or money. Management is dishonest and the cooks are incompetent.

First we were seated and ordered fried mozzarella. We received fries mushrooms. The waiter, Jeffrey, apologized. No big deal. Once the mozzarella arrived it was noticeably burnt, but we didnt want to send it back or complain.

My husband ordered the sirloin and shrimp and I ordered the 16 oz ribeye. It took over an hour for us to finally get our meal and when we got it, it was incorrect and cold. Ice cold. My husband bit into the shrimp and complained to the waiter. He even had the waiter touch the shrimp so he could see that we weren't exaggerating. Our food was refrigerator temperature cold. We sent it back. The kitchen comes back out 4 minutes later (with our steaks on the opposite plate). We picked up the steaks and swapped them back and the food was still cold. And the half eaten shrimp that the waiter touched was still on the plate. We tell Jeffrey that the food is still cold and he walks away. A couple of minutes later s manager comes and apologizes and offers 50% off. She explains that they're understaffed and that we were the fourth complaint that night. Jeffrey packs our food up for us. My husband paid and we left to get dinner somewhere else. It was my husband's birthday.

We get home and open our boxes and Jeffrey put the Mac and cheese and all the sides on top of the steak. I weighed my 16 oz ribeye and noticed it was 10 oz and the cut was wrong. I immediately called and they said to come in the morning to talk to the GM.

The next morning I went in and waited and spoke to Katera, who is a different manager. She was nice, heard my complaints, offered to remake it (I declined) and assured me that she would process a refund and I returned the entire meal. We didn't eat any of it. She was apologetic. I was happy she understood and gave the restaurant 30 days to return the money. It never came.

I called back and they told me Katera would give me a call. She didn't. I called again and and she said the reason why I didnt have the money was because they needed the card. That seemed odd but I drove back up there and she wrote the card number down.

A week later, nothing so I call. Katera assures me her GM received it Sunday prior and issued a refund. The GM then calls and says she doesnt know if I can get a refund, but she might be able to do a gift card but it wont be for the amount of my order. I think this is unacceptable but okay. Here I am another week later, no refund, no gift card, no meal, no nothing. They straight up lied to me and I feel scammed. I will be taking this up to the office of the president at Landry's.

DO NOT EAT HERE!!!! THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER.

I've never had a business lie to me like this. I am disappointed in this "restaurant."

Go to the brand new TX Roadhouse down 635, dont waste...

As a first time customer at Saltgrass, this was the WORST experience I have ever had. My family that traveled over 10 hours to visit and I waited for our table for an hour. When we sat at the table, our waiter was nowhere to be found. 20 minutes pass FINALLY another waiter came (Randall) and stated he would be helping us since he had been seeing we had not got attended. One of our family members has a physical health condition, she ordered her steak to be cooked medium rare. When she received it, it was well done. Bert (the manager) came from the kitchen took the steak, remade it, comes back to the table places the plate down and Bert proceeds to tell her to try it before he leaves, but she lets him know it is actually worse. He said okay takes the plate does not ask if we want a refund so we request them to remove that order from the ticket because by that time everyone was done eating. All he offered was a side soup or salad as a substitute to his staffs mistakes. He was really rude, unprofessional, horrible customer service and very unorganized. He stated “our policies are different because those are some expensive steaks”. At time of pay we handed the waiter our tab he takes it and comes back and asks “hey are you sure you put your card in here?” So they lost our card, then eventually find it in the waiters pocket… Also the ticket for the steaks that were cooked improperly by the staff under Bert’s supervision were added to the tab as well… So we had to request for those to be removed from the tab again… So this is why I give a 1 star review. I can’t believe they treat people this way, loose peoples cards, and mess up customers orders. Everyone was so disorganized under Bert’s supervision, and I will not be visiting again. What a horrible experience going here was! So we went to celebrate my 41st birthday here at this location. We got there a little early so we had to wait for more of my guest to arrive. Once we have enough people we are then shown to our table. Speed it up some, the waiter and waitress had bad attitudes. One of my guest was asking for a specific drink and instead of letting him tell him about what he wanted the waiter kept interrupting him. Mind you he is not a bartender and he should have asked the bartender about the drink first. The sad apart about him being the waiter was he was training another young lady. How, I don't see it. Like he had an whole attitude with my guest. And kept getting orders wrong and omg let's talk about the food! Everything I ordered came out cold. And it took for ever for them to bring it out. I had to resend back my appetizer and soup. Then I order steak well done with shrimp, my steak came back rare. I sent it back and they bring me back the same steak with black shrimp. At this point I was like just forget, take it back I don't want anything to eat. We had to call for the manager to come when the waiter had an attitude and for the horrible food. Now here's the kicker, my guest is ready to leave. Why is it that every person ticket was screwed up. They charged guest for things they didn't order. Even when they told them they didn't order it and it caused a huge commotion. My brother had to walk over to where they do the receipts in order to get his right. And then my friend used his military discount and they charged him more which he had to make then correct. Over all the was a very bad and unprofessional restaurant with poor customer service skills. From the kitchen all way to the wait staff. Just horrible and I would not recommend...
