I had been wanting to try their food again because I had tried there chicken wings a year or so back. I had business in the neighborhood so I decided to try because they have a lunch special for $7.99. I ordered the chicken curry which a customer told me was good. When the cashier told me how much it was it was 1399 plus they charge me for the drink and an appetizer meat pie. It was $24 and I tipped them 15%. The portions were large especially the beans and rice, plenty of chicken, but I did not like the cabbage, it had a sour smell reminded me of something spoiled. I'm sure that's just the way it is made. When I asked about the lunch special price they said it was very small amount and that I wouldn't like it. At that point I agreed go ahead stay with the larger entree. I realized now that I do not like curry chicken and the beans and rice to me are rather Bland. I wish I had gotten the wings or shrimp as I saw other people doing but they had ordered before I even ordered and they were still waiting on their food after I head men serve and finished my meal. The most unbelievable, mind-blowing, occurrence while I was dying there, I asked the owner if I could have some hot sauce to put on my food. She looked me Square in the eye and tell me that I had to buy hot sauce because people used too much of it and it was very expensive. I replied to her that I had to spend 20 something dollars plus tip almost $5 if she was going to deny me a common courtesy of a condiment with my meal? I could not believe that she was basically accusing a paying customer because she had problems with other previous customers of being a thief of hot sauce. This was some really outrageous treatment and a ill-mannered attitude towards a potential future customer. I was not impressed with the food but I certainly was not impressed with the treatment over a $2 bottle of hot sauce from which I only needed few drops. You won't see me or my family ever patronize this establishment again. We only go where we are treated fairly and our business is...

Thursday night and we were in the mood for some spice and comfort. Enter Reggae Wings & Tings!! This Caribbean eatery in Mesquite is a black owned establishment, that strives to bring good vibes and food to all. The party starts in the parking lot! As you drive up, you are greeted by reggae music that prepares you for all that is inside. The restaurant is decorated with beautiful art that makes you feel like you are peeking into memories of island bliss.
The staff is friendly and makes it a point to make you feel like you are part of the family. The menu is full of your typical caribbean favorites. Jerk Chicken, Oxtails, Rice and Peas. All the tings that tickle the senses.
Sah and I decide to divide and conquer the menu by sharing. It's a good thing that we did! These people are looking to FEED YOU! Once you leave, be quick to head straight home, because the I'TIS is on the way! The small Jerk Chicken, with Rice & Peas, and Plantains is a meal upmatched! At first, I was a little skepitcal since the chicken was oven baked, but I am here to tell you; THEY DID THAT! The chicken was juicy, spicy, and had the reminiscent char we experienced in Jamaica. The "small" was also dag gone near a HALF CHICKEN! The rice and peas were flavorful, but the plantains? Deep amber and carmarlized, pillows of fried plantain goodness. If you do nothing else, be sure to order these! We also ordered the 6 wings and fries in the Bob Marley flavor. The wings were cooked to perfection, well sauced and just the right amount of spice. The fries were fresh and hot(truly the only way) and in a heaping mound! Served with dipping sauce. Now, the dipping sauce was kind of weird. Similar to a broken ranch, but didn't quite taste like it.
Honestly, I can't wait to eat my way through the menu.
Island worthy,...
Read morePpl, di food nuh have nuh taste. I should’ve trusted the reviews. It’s my first time ordering from this place because my favorite Jamaican spot was closed. I ordered the jerk chicken and the curry goat on UberEats and it took them almost 30mins to even accept my order. When I called in to confirm if my order was received, they said they have no record of my name or anything and I should cancel and try again. I tried canceling on my end, but it would prompt a cancellation fee of $30+ as my order was $40+ so I left it. Started a new order with a different restaurant (which ended up coming way before this order) and 2, 2s mi see seh a driver is heading to pick up the food from Reggae W&T.
My food came and it was a hot a$$ mess. Curry gravy all over the place, curry gravy seep through the box a jerk chicken and - it was just unpleasant. The curry goat had 0 TASTE, I didn’t even know if I was eating goat or wah, the jerk chicken very spicy but nooo flavor. I feel like if it had flavor, it would’ve tasted sooo good cause the right amount of spice is definitely there. I had just a taste of each (literally like a toddler’s taste) and I couldn’t have anymore. It just wasn’t enjoyable and I could definitely tell it wasn’t a Jamaican in that kitchen . I am DISAPPOINTED. Mi born and grow a Jamaica and lived in South Florida for years so I know what authentic Jamaican food tastes like and...
