El Rincón mexicano — Restaurant in Metairie

Love this place. Carne asada burritos are San Diego level good and the chimichangas are incredible. Tortillas are fresh and tasty. The red hot sauce is perfect. Tacos are great, especially birria. Everything I've had here is great. Nice staff, always inviting. Parking kinda sucks but there's usually a spot open in front. Worth the minimal extra effort it takes if you have to park around the corner and walk half a block. This has been my favorite Mex place for well over 6 months. I ordered the birria, al pastor, and carne asada tacos, as well as the chips and salsa and sides of beans and rice.

The tacos were all fantastic. The beans were not good, but the rice was very good. The chips and “salsa” made me think I was on an episode of PUNK’D. The salsa was just broth…I’ve been to a lot of authentic Mexican places, so I’ve learned to appreciate different salsas. But there is no way this stuff can pass as salsa. It was awful.

I will definitely be back for tacos and to try out other things...

This was my first time here , i got Birria Tacos , the only reason why i gave it 4 starts its cuzz i paid 16$ for 3 tacos which is pretty expensive if you ask me . But besides that the tacos were AMAZING , so cheesy and flavorful the caldo was great in flavor i definitely recommend this place if your willing to give the money...
