So this last weekend Lisa and I spent the weekend doing an event in Metropolis IL and it was pretty good overall. Not a lot of places to eat in town but it is basically a small town. Went to Hardees to try and get something light for breakfast. Worst choice ever. Placed our order in the drive-through. Drove up to the window to pay for it. Handed the cashier my card. After she charged me she started to hand me the machine while asking would you like to leave a tip? I mulled it over in my mind for a few seconds and said no. In my mind I know that fast food workers are getting almost double pay than minimum wage. I was not being provided a special service or anything extra and that Is why I said no to the tip. We were told to pull to the side and wait for our order to be ready which we did. After a couple minutes, I noticed everyone who went through the drive-through was asked to pull to the side parking area and wait. We waited and waited and waited. after 25 minutes of waiting decided to skip the waiting and get a refund. Walked inside and the same girl that took my money at the window came over to the counter and said what? Told her I was tired of waiting and wanted a refund. She turns and yells to the back. Someone else wants a refund. While waiting I took a look around the place. It was filthy. Most of the employees looked like they could use a shower. Finally, a lady comes up to the front. Asked if I was the one that wanted a refund. Told her yes and she said ok I will take care of that for you. She went to the register and next, she turned to another employee and asked what was going on with this order on this register? The other employee says oh that was so and so. He had to go out and make a call. So the lady says Of course and starts punching buttons. She reached for my receipt and started doing what she needed to so that she could issue my refund. She starts talking and says, I don't blame you for getting a refund. This is my last day here. I have been here for 3 weeks and can't do this anymore. Everyone is a boss and no one wants to work. Told her that looked like they needed some food prep and she said that's just the start of it. She then looks up and sees the line behind me and asks if everyone wants a refund? at least 4 more said yes and 2 others said just checking on food I ordered 30 minutes ago. Got my refund and left. This whole experience at Hardee's was just disturbing, to say the least. No one wants to work or do the job they are paid for even though they get paid well. Bosses and managers are afraid of firing bad employees as they don't want to get sued or end up in a physical confrontation. It is terrible what has become of society. People want $15.00 an hour but worth $2.00....

The Frisco I had was delicious from the buttered sourdough, to the just- right bacon, to the just- right chicken beast, to the excellent hospitality at the drive thru. I don't know WHY this location is the best in the region (possibly because it's slow cooked and prepared, plus better managed & selective hiring) but PLEASE KEEP DOING WHAT YOU'RE DOING! Worth a long drive of the interstate to be served HARDEE deliciousness (travelers, doing try paducah location, as you will not get any correctly prepared foods there). OR MAYBE I WAS JUST HUNGRY... joking here, the food was prepared to industry- leading standards (9pm cst.... from 4 star to 5 stars).
1.15.22 Clean... night (past dusk) crew (manager especially) great CSRs! Morning crew (at dawn) manager especially not so much enthused to be at work. She tried with a dry HAVE A NICE DAY but her attitude so dry as she throws your order through the window; it ruins your day. WAYYYYY too early in the morning to spend $20 on breakfast to be treated like a burden (and get the order messed up). Imma keep the 4- stars for now (to see if management fixes its morning problems) because the late night crew I frequent this establishment with is darn-near fabulous with food quality & temperature and CSR hospitality

Read moreI went through the drive-thru with my mother and aunt to grab a family pack for the kids at home. We purchased a pack with chicken tenders, burgers, and fries. We received a family pack of only chicken tenders and fries. Normally, I would just let it go but when you have picky kids - this causes quite the dinnertime drama. I drove back and politely informed them of the mistake, and I was told to pull to the window. When I was greeted at the window, instead of issuing an apology, a receipt or the “extra” food was demanded back. I said I was not informed of this prior to leaving my house, and it didn’t make sense as the young man at the window waited on us previously and knew what we ordered. Again, I was told I needed a receipt of the food to be brought back. In the middle of a pandemic. I said I wasn’t going to do that, and I asked for the missing burgers to complete my purchase. The GM (I’m assuming) finally came to the window and instead of issuing an apology told me “I’ll do it for you this time but you need to bring a receipt so it doesn’t happen again.” I responded it was their mistake, and I didn’t understand why I was being punished for THEIR mistake. (Might I also add that the GM didn’t know what came with the Family Pack F. I had to correct him and he looked it up to be sure I was right. I was.) He rudely gave me the burgers, and I told him I would not be back. Never in my life has a fast food restaurant not owned up to their mistake and DEMANDED a receipt or the incorrect food returned.
