Every week, I need to order takeout, and for the past few months, we have chosen Francisca because my family and I love their food. However, we have been very disappointed with the service lately.
Two weeks ago (Thursday), we tried calling in the afternoon to place a lunch order, but we were left on hold indefinitely and never assisted. We ended up having to go to the restaurant in person, only to be served by Alix, the same person who left us on hold, who had a very bad attitude and lacked the usual friendliness we were accustomed to at Francisca.
Last Wednesday, instead of ordering takeout, we decided to dine at the restaurant, but once again, the same person treated us poorly. She didn’t even take the time, as they used to, to explain the dishes. It seems like they are understaffed, which is causing the service quality to decline. My partner considered speaking to the manager, but to our surprise, we realized that the manager didn’t speak English. I have nothing against supporting Latinos (my family is of Latin origin) but having a restaurant manager in the United States who doesn’t speak English is unacceptable.
The last straw was last Thursday when we called again to place a lunch order and, once again, we were left on hold for an unreasonably long time without assistance. It is a shame that their service has declined because the food is really good.
Today, my family wants to go to Francisca, but my partner and I are debating whether to go to the Doral location, even though it is farther for us. But has the service there also declined, just like in the Miami Lakes location? Or would it be better to not go to either one at all?...
Read moreWe visited this location for an early dinner on Saturday. We were sat almost immediately and our server came by shortly to take our order.
To start, we ordered the queso telita al carbon with the arepitas de Tia Mica. You can’t go wrong with melted cheese! Although I initially thought it would be melted to a “dip” form, I really enjoyed the queso with the sweetness of the arepitas.
As our entrees, we had 2 orders of the quarter chicken and chose fresh salad with avocado slices and congri with avocado slices as our sides. Additionally, I had the churrasco steak with yuca fries and a fresh salad. At first bite, the chicken was juicy roasted to perfection. We were served a generous salad portions as well as a heap of the congri. The crisp bacon pieces in the congri gave it somewhat of a smokey taste. Totally unexpected but very delicious! The churrasco steak could stand alone— despite the required chimichurri sauce. It was well seasoned and very flavorful. The yuca fries were cooked nice and crispy, as requested.
My only complaints were that the music, although appropriate was extremely loud and made it difficult for us to speak to each other while the songs played. Additionally, our waitress was pleasant but didn’t check on our table besides taking our orders/bringing our orders/bringing the check. I don’t even think I got a refill on my water!
Overall, we enjoyed our meal and will probably return again despite the cost. Our dinner came at a cost of almost $100 and we didn’t order any...
Read moreMy recent visit to Francisca’s was nothing short of exceptional, highlighted by the culinary delights and the warm hospitality extended by our waitress, Maria Elisa. The ambiance of the restaurant set the stage for what was to be a memorable meal.
My boyfriend opted for the Bandeja Paisa, a decision that proved to be impeccable. The dish, requested medium, was served to perfection - the meat was succulently juicy, bursting with flavors that tantalize the palate. A standout component was the chicharrón, so tender and soft that it seemed to melt upon contact, leaving a lasting impression of culinary excellence.
As for myself, I chose the Cruzado de Res y Ave. The soup, rich in flavor, was a comforting embrace to my slightly under-the-weather self. Each spoonful was a testament to the chef’s ability to combine ingredients in a manner that soothes both the body and soul.
The service provided by Maria Elisa was the cherry on top of an already delightful experience. Her friendly demeanor and attentive service ensured that our dining experience was seamless from start to finish. Her recommendations were spot on, and her knowledge of the menu added a personal touch to our meal.
In conclusion, Francisca’s has secured a special place in our hearts, and our palates. The combination of mouth-watering dishes and the warm, welcoming atmosphere guarantees that we will be returning patrons. For those in search of an exceptional dining experience, look no further than...
