The Bend Liquor Lounge — Restaurant in Miami Lakes

So my friend and I went there last night and like everywhere we've gone in Florida, other states and other countries, we joke around. Nothing serious. My friend ordered shots and I told her "don't listen to him, I'm cut off". Then he says "ignore her, get us shots".This little skinny, ugly bartender who apparently is the head bartender, gets so abrasive and yells at him saying "If she says she's cut off I legally can't serve her anymore drinks and that's the way it is!" So after our shock and she returns, I told her I'm going to have a shot. This girl refused me and said I can't change my mind...that I already said no more. I have never in all my 28 years of drinking and 38 years on earth, experienced that before. Then when the people we met there wanted to get me a drink she refused again then yelled at me again saying "this is your fault, you cut yourself off". By now, I am damn near 100% sober and just hanging with everyone. Next thing I know, the security guy comes up to me and says the bartender says she can't serve you and that I would need to leave. LET ME POINT OUT THAT I WAS THE OOONLY BLACK PERSON IN THE ENTIRE BAR. After we spent $100 at that bar, that was how I was treated. Oh, and the kicker, she tried to scam and automatically add a 20% tip to our bill. Really? Really? Some nerve. NEVER EVER GOING BACK THERE AGAIN! Ale House right down the street is always poppin with a dj, live band, great food and drinks, tvs, and no one refusing us...

I can’t believe this hidden gem was in the outskirts of Hialeah. It’s a real cocktail bar servin up some of the best cocktails in Miami located in an unassuming shopping plaza. The store front is not that inviting but as soon as you walk in, the cool dark ambiance and staff are welcoming. Our bartender Mike whipped out some classic cocktails like Espresso Martini and Manhattan but he also suggested their specialty cocktails which didn’t disappoint. I highly suggest trying the The Clover Cub and Pussers Pain Killer. They were both fabulous. Not to mention, his Old Fashioned was probably the best one I’ve had. Loved the vibe of this place. Reasonably priced craft cocktails and the music by the live DJ was great. Oh they also have happy hour so it’s a good spot to meet...

I have gone here 3 times and it is my favorite spot and will forever be my go to #1 bar. The staff is 100% the best ever; very friendly and attentive regardless of how busy. Me and my best friend last night (a friday night) got there around 10:30pm and it was pretty busy but we got served quick. It emptied out as the night continued. There were two guys behind us for a while making us uncomfortable and in a second the manager was already next to them watching them for us so we can have a good time.
