From a Year.ago. see below for update. Excellent food and service. The food is always good (visit several times), service always good. I am a big fan of fried rice, always looking for a good westindian style fried rice. They have some good fried rice, if you are looking for the Caribbean flavor. The bathroom needs an upgrade; I have used alleys that were cleaner than the male bathroom (have not used the Females) . If not for the bathroon, I would have given them a five star.

Update February 2021. Great restaurant ... It's a hole-in-the-wall, if you will, but not necessary. It an absolute wonderful restaurant... The food and service is always amazing as always, even with the change of owner (approximately six months ago). One of the best places to have fried rice if you are looking for good flavors with a tint of smokey taste. For the folks from the caribbean, you know what I am talking about. If you never had fried rice with the smokey flavor, definitely make an effort to visit this place. The whole fried fish is also one of my favorite dish when visiting this restaurant...it comes with salad and press plantains (tostones). Prices are still reasonable. The bathrooms had some upgrade done, so.it's much better these day. Additionally, so you are aware, it appears that they now add a 18 percent gratuity, for me it's not an issue because of the great service as...

I must say, the food excellent overall. My experience is that restaurants tend to make some great dishes, but not all of their dishes are great. In this case, the food is excellent, some minor misses, but overall excellent.

The waiter on the other hand, who has been the only one for a few years, needs a little charisma. I feel like I am ordering an auto part, rather than a dish. He seems like a good guy, he does his job, but seems he does not like it.

The decor is good, but the lighting is a little dark, like a bar. A little more light and they are good to go....

Rate it four stars only because the owner wasn't there as he had to travel out of the country for family related issues and employees were really trying their best. For some one like me that frequently eats there is noticeable that the owner wasn't there. Other than that we had a good experience and the food was great as always.
