I’d heard about the amazing cinnamon buns. In fact, I’ve seen a picture of one posted online. However, I did not know where it came from. In between asking people, making my way to yellow Springs and and finally actually just stopping people on the streets. I was able to determine that they came from yellow Springs, bakery and Café.
I finally was able to find a parking spot. It’s a very busy part of town made my way into the bakery. It was excited to see these humongous cinnamon rolls.
Due to an incident that happened while I was there, I almost didn’t get to sample those cinnamon buns while I was there for that visit. but the owner was there and accommodated me and I not only was able to get one of these delicious cinnamon buns I was also being able to get a chocolate croissant. Which interestingly enough I was just reading about in a book.
The next test was did it taste as good as it looked. because of my schedule I had to take it with me and try to eat this delicious humongous cinnamon, as I drove. I wish I would’ve taken a picture of my hands on my steering wheel by the end of the time the Cinnabon found it forever home in my stomach. My face, my hands, my shirt, or all a mess. But I certainly was satisfied.
later day, I was able to eat the croissant and while not a Cinnabon it was delicious white and fluffy with a thick roll of chocolate holding it down. It was wonderful.
During my experience, I was told there was delicious empanadas here I will soon return for that ...
Read moreStopped by Friday around 1pm after a long hike and honestly really glad I did. I've never been totally satisfied with the other “coffee” spots in Yellow Springs so figured I'd give this place a shot.
When I walked in I was the only one there. The young lady at the counter was super friendly and helpful. They didn't have espresso but they did have drip coffee so I settled for that.
The vibe is honestly what this town needs more of well lit, quiet and actually comfortable enough to sit for a while. Ended up staying about 45 minutes with my drip coffee and a bacon quiche. Both were 10/10 and the price was very reasonable. You can tell they care about what they're putting out.
It picked up closer to 2 which makes sense. I got to talk to one of the one of the owners for a bit (really friendly guy). Mentioned it'd be great if they added espresso at some point and he said they've been thinking about it. I said if they do, I'll give up attempting to go anywhere else for coffee around here. Since the current options in the town are not good.
Truly happy I stumbled upon this place. The pastries look amazing too and I can already tell it's somewhere I could sit quietly, read, or just hang out for a while.
The only downside is that there are NO outlets in the lobby if you need to work on a laptop or charge anything. Not a dealbreaker though..probably better that way to stay more present and just quite the mind anyways.
Definitely recommend checking it out over any other...
Read moreWow!!! We purchased the cinnamon rolls among several other items. As others have noted in previous reviews...that is the best cinnamon roll we have eaten. We will be back for more and plan to try the empanadas. The Ethiopian coffee was a nice complimentary flavor to go along with the rolls as well.
Thank you
Update: As promised we returned to the bakery during our boomerang vist to YS. The owners are a pleasure to speak with and are very kind. We returned for the Empanadas as we suggested we would, they are very good and the salsa has a pleasant spice. Of course we purchased a few additional cinnamon rolls for breakfast. The bread (deluxe bread Sunday) was as described..buttery and light as a croissant. If you appreciate quality bakery, please patronize the Yellow Springs...
