Yellow Springs has natural trails with some descending concrete stairs as one leaves the parking area that have no hand rails. This poses a fall risk for anyone, especially young children or the elderly. Handicap access is limited. Trails vary from wet and boggy, to natural dirt surfaces that cross creeks, waterfalls, ascend hills, and immerse visitors in the shadows of old growth hardwoods and large Limestone formations. There is a small Native Adena Burial Mound, and ultimately the Historic Yellow Spring with water bursting forth from a huge rock as it has for more than a century. If you should consider drinking some of the natural mineralized spring water, I recommend using a filtration device like a Life Straw, just to be safe.
Walking grades are low to moderate with trails that may total in excess of 5 miles to complete the loop. You're bound to run into young adults smoking pot or using Cannabis oil in electronic smoking devices while hiking. It is treated like it is common for everyone, even though possession and use of the substance still has legal limits.

The trails from the parking to the raptor center and then from there to the springs were somewhat accessible, but avoid thin wheels as it’s all gravel and unpaved. Even with a healing ankle injury, I could make it around.
And there are handicap accessible spots at the falcon center, which I always appreciate seeing.
The staff was friendly. The parking attendant was incredibly kind. I told him he was the kindest person I had met so far on my trip, and he replied with, “I hope that changes.”
