Ambiance: There is none, located in the heart of little Haitia in Miami. This place is mostly for pick up. You could eat there but there is no air conditioning so on a hot summer day it becomes hard to sit and eat there. You order and wait (no table service).
Food: Fried Chicken: comes with kidney beans rice, salad (lettuce, tomatoes, and carrot), fried eggplant, coslaw, and this red sauce. The chicken was somewhat dry. There was no seasoning. The salad had no dressing and the coslaw was drenched in vinegar. It's a good thing that they gave the red sauce because without it, it would be really hard to eat.
Fried Goat: (same as above) but this was actually seasoned well and tasted good. The meat was tender.
Service: we waiting a considerable long time to get our food.
Overall, this is a place you go just for food but know...
Read moreWe wanted to try some Haitian food but I am not sure this was the best place for an introduction.
The lady at the counter leaned to the side like a student in a desk fighting against sleep while she told us we would have to wait 15 minutes for our food.
This was absolutely fine.
The TV was screaming football the mirrors and walls were dirty but we thought, hey, some of the best food we had in our lives were in places like this and it tasted like childhood and love.
This was not the case.
We had the pork and the turkey and everything was dry. The rice was dry ( and you could see some of beans were out right charred) the plantain was plopped on the dish raw and the meat just tasted reheated many times.
I can see that this was once a place of blooming flavors and filled seats it just seemed it fell...
Read moreThe place only does cash that needs some updating we had gotten the griot they only had one type of rice to choose from with is the red bean. The rice tasted Smokey more than anything else. The griot didn’t have that much flavor and had a different smell to it which I couldn’t point out what it was they used. I’ve had Haitian food I am Haitian I’ve cooked this type of food many times I’ve brought Haitian food from other places and I’ve never had a pikliz this bad. Tasted vinegarieee no spice all cabbage and two small strains of carrots. But I do have to admit the oxtail was good. That was the only thing I liked. Ik everyone has a way of cooking Haitian food and no matter what way it usually tastes good but this way was not the way. I only gave it a two for food because...
