As far as food places go in the gables, this place is a nice change and adds variety to the regular tastes. As far as a Colombian food place goes, it is sub par at best. Colombian food is usually known for their large portions and well seasoned food but this place does not do well in those aspects. I had the mojara and the bandeja paisa. Both Colombian dishes that are staples in any menu. The Mojara was a very savory sweet water fish and was cooked well but The sides where bland and did not complement the taste of the fish. The bandeja paisa was very small portioned and did not fill me at all. The pork chicharon was flavorless and the smallest portion of the entire plate. I ordered the churasco with it but I’m sure it was the saddest piece they had, it was thin and half cold. None of the juiciness of a typical churasco. I ordered a mojito and I was disappointed that the bar also had a bad staff. They made the first one too sweet and the second one didn’t have the passion fruit maracuya flavor as the menu advertised. The staff is rather incompetent. They are unable to listen to basic requests. For example I ordered three waters they only brought two to the table and I had to share mine. When I returned the mojito for having too much sugar I asked them to just give me a cup of water they brought me another one which I didn’t even want at that point. It’s a shame to see that coral gables high prices and brunch culture has destroyed all authenticity of a Colombian restaurant. I have eaten at many Colombian restaurants all through the east coast, and this one is a lot the...

We went because it is supposedly the new name and location for Monserrate, one of the best Colombian restaurants in Miami for years. Totally wrong.

The place itself is dark and has nothing in the decor that makes you think of Colombia other than a flag hanging on the wall.

The service was mediocre. For example, our server went mostly around the table (group of 8) and then left to enter the orders without asking the last person for her order. We had to call her back. Then when the food came out they actually brought her the wrong meal. She said they didn't have what was ordered (European Salad which is salad with tuna on top) so they brought out a salad with chicken on top instead. That's nuts.

Similar story for desert where only half the table was asked for their order. Our side had no idea they had ordered until they were being served so we had to call her back to order for the other half of the table.

The chicharrón was so dry and hard it was inedible and the empanadas were overcooked. My chicken was also overcooked and tough.

When we ordered guacamole she said they didn't have any (it's on the menu) but they did have avocados, the main ingredient for guacamole. Either they buy pre-made guacamole and ran out or they were lazy and didn't feel like taking the 5 minutes it takes to whip up an order.

I see lots of reviews saying how good the food is here. All I can say is, if they are true then the quality and service is VERY unpredictable. You don't want to be the one to come on a bad day like we did.

Go somewhere else with more...

Liye was an amazing waitress she served me very well and attended me very well An Unforgettable Dining Experience — Liye Has Redefined Flavor and Hospitality

From the moment you walk into Liye’s restaurant, you can feel the passion and care behind every detail — the warm ambiance, the inviting aroma, and the staff’s genuine smiles instantly make you feel at home. But it’s when the food arrives that the magic truly begins.

Every dish bursts with creativity and depth — perfectly balanced flavors, beautifully presented, and clearly made with love. You can tell Liye doesn’t just cook; she crafts experiences. Whether it’s a signature entrée or a simple appetizer, every bite feels intentional and extraordinary.

The service is flawless, the atmosphere soothing yet vibrant, and the overall energy of the place makes you want to stay longer than you planned. It’s rare to find a restaurant that captures both heart and excellence the way Liye’s does.

If you’re looking for more than just a meal — if you want a moment that reminds you why food can be art — this is the place. Liye’s restaurant isn’t just a spot to eat; it’s a destination you’ll be dreaming about long after...

Be careful when paying and look at your receipt carefully. If you read other reviews you’ll see that this is not an isolated incident. When I was given the device to pay I immediately saw the waitress added a 20% tip which was automatic ONLY for 6 or more guests, we were 3 adults, 1 teen and 1 four year old. I tell the waitress that I wanted to put my own tip amount and she says I can, so I select “custom tip” on the device and give the amount I want. I ask for the receipt. HOWEVER, I see the bill and El Patio 305 not only charged me the tip I wanted to give but the 20%!! I complained to the waitress and she made the change but the last time I came a similar issue happened. Long story short, I don’t plan to come back.

I rate colombian joints like this primarily on / things , their empanadas and their “ají” or colombian hot sauce. So by nature any new place I ask 2 things. You almost guess it. It’s if they have empanadas and do they contain rice. They should not. No respectable colombian empanada should have rice. Some do. Typically from the Capital region. The reason why the 1 start it’s because they actually had the right color ají. (Green). When I placed the order I asked several time. TUS EMPANADAS TIENEN ARROZ?” The answer was no and a lie. Oh. The 3 points for atmosphere is because they fooled me with their El patio Wynwood vibe and the REALLY really clean bathroom. I didn’t get my money back. this post will just .
