After a year of being closed, I was excited to return to Savor to celebrate my birthday. Upon arriving, I had to rearrange my section twice to accommodate my group size and ensure we’d all sit together. Ordered two bottles and had to request the complimentary bottle of bubbly. Server delivered the bottles and while she offered to pour champagne for the table, that’s where the service started and stopped. We were there 3+ hours and I honestly recall our table being checked on only twice. Literally had to wave down the server to request water, food etc. I opened my own bottles and served everyone myself. When I complained to the server, she explained that “some people don’t like when we touch their bottles”. Excuse me, what? If I’m paying $500-$600 per bottle (don’t even get me started on the bottle prices) at the very least I expect you to open them. Hospitality isn’t one size fits all. Why not simply ask if you can serve the table? When I shared this feedback with the so-called manager, he acknowledged the service lapses but offered no recovery, even when I complained about being charged the most expensive bottle of Hennessy. Instead of informing me that they did not have the bottle I requested, server decided to serve me what she wanted. Another example of her making decisions that benefitted Savor and not the guests. Many of my friends in attendance (myself included) have hospitality backgrounds so we obviously have a certain level of expectation when we patronize businesses. We aren’t needy and we don’t go out of our way to give anyone a hard time. I deserved a better birthday experience and it’s shameful that no one was apologetic or willing to turn around the night while I was still there. Offering to “take care of me next time” was an inadequate response from management. Because after last night’s display, why on earth would I even...
Read moreWe reserved a section for a friend’s graduation for 11PM. We were not seated for 45 min because the staff did not clear people from the section that we reserved promptly. We asked several times and kept being told 5-10 more minutes which they knew wasn’t a truthful timeline. It would have been a lot more professional to just be truthful and say it’s going to take a long time and offer us drinks or something. Once we were seated, we had to repeatedly ask for things. We waited 90 minutes for a Hookah and had to remind them 4 times. We were told there was no more food. We watched a couple next to us who came in an hour after us receive hookah before we did and get food. When we bought these things up and the poor service, staff just repeatedly said “All I can do is apologize.” I understand the service industry is difficult and people’s jobs are hard during busy nights, but so many mistakes repeatedly and no sincere effort to get better was very unprofessional and unwelcoming, particularly given the large amount...
Read moreCame in looking to support this new restaurant and try out nigerian cuisine but left very disappointed. The food was good, although somewhat pricey. I liked the level of spice (very spicy). The service was very off-putting since we were bribed (a free shot) ONLY if we left a FIVE star review for a place where no one noticed that my chair bent. The waitress seemed to be focused more on the table service than on my table with my friends and overlooked that small detail for around 30mins. We left the establishment and no one noticed I was eating standing up. When asked for a drink menu, we were instructed to ask for "nothing fancy" (basic drinks) since no menu exists. When leaving, waitress went up to my group asking for the receipt after we signed it, only to find out the table was cleared with the receipt by other staff members. The place had some promise with the ambience and good food overshadowed by poor service and lack of a varied menu. Wouldn't...
