I recently visited Vizcaya Museum Café & Shop, expecting a pleasant break during my visit to this historic landmark. Unfortunately, my experience at the café was anything but welcoming.
The biggest issue was the cashier's shockingly rude attitude. From the moment I approached the counter, she acted as if answering simple questions was beneath her. With an air of entitlement and arrogance, she made the interaction incredibly uncomfortable. There was no visible menu on the screen, which meant I had to ask about the options, but instead of being helpful, she responded in a condescending and dismissive manner.
The lack of basic customer service was appalling. Ordering a simple drink or snack should not feel like an interrogation, yet her unfriendly and impatient demeanor made it an unpleasant experience. Given that this café is located in such a well-known and frequently visited museum, I expected much better service.
Vizcaya itself is breathtaking, but this café’s poor hospitality is a major disappointment. I highly recommend management take a serious look at their staff’s attitude because rudeness should not be part of the experience in a place meant for relaxation...
Read moreVizcaya visitors, please note that this review area is for the cafe only and not for Vizcaya Museum and Gardens. I enjoyed my return visit to Vizcaya Museum and Gardens and was looking forward to having a stylish, delicious lunch. This did not happen. Upon entering the basic, high school type "cafe", I was disappointed by the minimal menu. I ordered the steak Panini. It was almost cold, barely grilled. There was no pesto seasoning on it and the meat was stringy, sticking between my teeth. The nastiest Panini I ever had. I've had better food at gas stations. This poor quality, cafeteria style lunch place was in stark contrast to my experience in the museum and very unsatisfactory.
It is completely unacceptable that a beautiful historic place such as Vizcaya would not establish a better restaurant that reflects the high class environment...
Read moreFinished touring the beautiful Vizcaya Estate, and decided to stop by for a bite to eat from the on site cafe. What a wonderful treat! The sandwiches sold even if at a touristy price, they are well worth it. Flavor abound with great execution. We ordered the Chicken Panini and the Steak Panini, which had the option of a garden salad or chips. The pesto sauce on the chicken panini was perfectly balanced with rosemary. The steak had cilantro, aioli sauce, caramelized onions and even a small layer of potato crisps! The bread was fresh and delightful! The perfect meal after a...
