Red Horse Tavern LLC — Restaurant in Middleburg

We stopped in yesterday to have lunch. The outside was completely full except for one table which needed to be cleaned off. The server told us to sit anywhere, so we sat at the one available table. The place was busy and he appeared to be the only server, so we just sat and waited. We weren’t in a hurry and were enjoying the nice weather, so we had no problem at all just hanging out until they were able to clear off the table and take our order. After about ten minutes the server said, “That table isn’t clean.” We obviously knew this, but since it was the only unoccupied table and he said to sit anywhere, that’s what we did. He and another young man came over to clear it and we got the biggest attitude from him. My 84 year old father in law asked him if he wanted us to move away while they cleared the table, and he didn’t even answer him. He was clearly annoyed and miserable. We were confused and obviously felt unwelcome. We were having a nice day and did not want to deal with such an unpleasant server and atmosphere, so we left and went somewhere else and had a very enjoyable lunch with a pleasant and...

We sat down at 1:17 pm today, May 28th. The couple we were talking to sat a table adjacent to us. Ordered our drinks and then a couple of sandwiches. The. Couple seated next to us ordered an appetizer which they got very timely. Then they were served their lunch a short time later. We were still waiting for sandwiches. Now it is almost 2 PM. The couple next to us are almost done. We stopped the waitress to ask her if she could check on our sandwiches (one burger and one turkey club BTW - nothing fancy) and she VERY HAUGHTILY told us “We are understaffed just like the rest of the country and you will have to wait like everyone else” Miss two different socks then turned on her heel and stomped off. Never asked us what we ordered or how long we were waiting. If she had - she would have realized something was wrong and gone to check. We FINALLY got served at 2:02 PM. My husbands burger arrived COLD!! Obviously our meals were sitting there for quite some time. No apologies - nothing. We have a choice of restaurants. The next time we go to Middleburg we will be leaving this choice...

Visited here while in a wine tour with Vino Vineyards (Mr. Paul is AWESOME - book his tour!!) It was crowded due to the gorgeous day, we placed our name in the list and waited about 15-minutes or so. We sat outside, and within about 5 minutes someone came to take our order - 2 sandwichea with fries (1 shrimp and 1 blackened salmon), and 2 grilled salmon platters with came with mashed potatoes and mixed veggies, and an order of onion rings. The rings came first and we waited almost 40 minutes for our food. The blackened salmon sandwich came in plain bread - no mayo - nothing - and was COLD (I was not pleased at all - tho it did have good flavor). The 2 salmon platters were warm, mashed potatoes were boxed with no flavor, and the veggies (broccoli, carrots) were okay. The shrimp sandwich warm and tasty, both fries were hot. I don't think the kitchen was bprepares for the crowd..my blackened salmon must have been made first and waited on everyone else's food to be done. If I'm back for another wine tour I will eat someone else. No time for photos - we...
