Great baked goods and breakfast. Terrible customer service unless your a local. If you’re not from Middleburg, friendly is not what you’ll find. I go out of my way to drive from The Plains to Purcellville for a way better experience. The Sweet Rose Bakeshop has better pastries, breakfast, customer service and a really cool story on how they came to be. If you’re in Middleburg and don’t want to drive as far as Purcellville, just keep going East into Aldie and stop by the Little Apple Pie Pastry Shop. Run by the sweetest two ladies their pastries are amazing. Good breakfast and great lunch. Get the Thanksgiving Sandwhich! If you’re closer to Marshall, bypass Uppity Crust and stop by Red Truck. Also great pastries, pies, and breakfast. “Vote with your dollars.” Give busines to businesses that actually want it. Uppity Crust might be the only pastry shop in Middleburg, but there’s plenty of other local, family run businesses that you...
Read moreI really like this tiny, quaint bakery! my boss loves their cow puddles, so typically we end up getting a ton of them at a time.
located across the street from the Safeway, this little bakery now takes credit cards via Square & cash. super convenient for me now as I don't have to take cash with me anymore. I took a ton of photos, but I didn't realize until afterwards, they have a sign that said no cell phones :x sorry!
their baked goods are always good. cow puddles are these chewy, addicting cookies made with some decadent brown butter. I also bought a honey bun for myself and a sugar cookie for my daughter. she really enjoyed it as it was a cute little purple horse! the chocolate croissants were so good. I wouldn't compare them to an actual French one, but good for what you're getting. I honestly had to stop looking as I wanted to buy everything myself (pregnancy cravings).
great little stop for anyone...
Read moreOver the years my work has allowed me to travel the globe and I have always enjoyed popping into the local bakery or bistro. The Upper Crust is by far the best bakery experience I’ve ever had. The cookies are incredible, always fresh and made with excellent quality ingredients. The U.C. has a local, homey vibe and the prices are very, very reasonable. Some days folks are lined up out the door, some mornings I’ve been in and out in less than 5 minutes… if there is a wait, you will not be disappointed! The lightly iced Horse sugar cookie at $1.35 (seriously?!) is a bargain, that should not be missed! It is baked to perfection, golden bottom with slightly crisp edges and a soft center. Upper Crust pies and croissants are on par with Le Cordon Bleu, or your favorite Aunt’s recipe. Middleburg is quite fortunate to have such an outstanding bakery. Grab a croissant 🥐 it’s truly a...
