Clasen's European Bakery — Restaurant in Middleton

I believe they bake everything there and if you like really good breads and all kinds of bakery items, you will love this place. They have some very unique European offerings, including great chocolates and especially for the holidays think of them for this year‘s Christmas because they have wonderful baskets you can mail out they have great Amazing cookies and snacks Christmas stuff that kids just love they have these little wrapped chocolates.

Now this is what I would call a five star bakery so you’re going to need to understand that the prices are going to be higher because of the quality of the ingredients and because it’s made on site most of it anyway it’s all really good

Anytime of the year, my daughter and I go there for the breads and of course a couple half pounds of cookies and it’s a nice atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and very helpful and sometimes there’s even someone there that’s just baked something fresh and and they have good samples there they do the other day we try to jalapeño pepper Croissant. I had never tried one of those.

It was divine . And if you’re on a budget, the bread is still affordable for the quality that you’ll get and you can always find a little snack and like I said they have samples and those are always fun and they know a lot about their products so they can tell you anything you need.

They also do make special things they like for birthdays and holidays and all that, but I don’t have the details of that right now

There are multiple places within and around Dane co that are 100 times better! These People Are Beyond RUDE!!!! That is putting it mildly! I was short on time this Christmas season. I stopped in for Breakfast Baked Goods, Quiche cinnamon rolls, cheese danish, Buns and Bread my purchase $90 Yhe lady stuffed One paper bag. All was CRAMED into one bag with the quiche on the very bottom. As Much as they charge they can spare a few bags!!!! Asked for her to not pack it like that. She looked at me and said "its already packed" older lady! The baked goods were Beyond Dry! No one ate any of it and commented on the price shows on labels, Im shocked because Woodmans & Costco has 100x better quality and half the price! The Clausen dried up goods all went to the trash! The quiche was completely smashed she had all that weight on it! Don't waste your money, give your business to the ones that appreciate their customers! I never write reviews. Everyone has a bad day! Although this is the fourth incident over 3 years! Not to mention our Neighbors said the exact same experience happen to them and goods purchased were only worthy of the garbage can! I ended up repurchasing bread and buns at Costco. Freshly made...

Updated review: Thank you Clasen's for the full refund today, as well as the two free fruit tarts for my parents. It was nice to see your bakery bustling with happy customers this morning and we appreciate your dedication to good customer service, making things right, and making improvements where needed.

We have ordered delicious cakes from Clasen's for a long time, including our two wedding cakes -- our favorites, german chocolate and carrot -- in 2016. So WHAT HAPPENED, CLASEN'S?! We tried to order a german chocolate for Aug 18, 2022, but no dice. So we ordered a carrot instead. The result? An awful tasting, barely edible cake. We tried adding ice cream and even sprinkled sugar on top, but all we could taste was a bland, cardboard-like flavor. (I think I could make out baking soda, salt and flour, but not much else.) And the worst part? For this 7-inch cake, they upped their price to $66! Plus, they NEVER told me over the phone when I ordered it for $50 that it would cost $16 more just to add "Happy Birthday" and some heart decorations.
