Everything here from start to finish was outstanding. My husband and I love brunch, but it's hard to find someplace that both takes reservations and also is not super loud and noisy. Cooper's Hawk accommodated my request for a quiet spot by actually seating us at the bar, which indeed was very serene! I loved watching the bartender making all the various cocktails. The TVs were also muted thankfully.
Service was perfect, and the manager checked on us at least twice to make sure everything was going okay. Spectacular. I ordered the Avocado Toast with a side of bacon, and my husband got the Smoked Brisket Hash. While we waited for our food I absolutely loved my Strawberry Elderflower Spritz which was recommended by our waitress. Best spritz I ever had! After trying my cocktail, my husband decided to try the Boozy Iced Coffee and he loved his drink just as much.
Our food was fantastic as well, and I loved that they try their best to be unique and different with their ingredients and flavors. I'm so tired of boring "pancake house" type menus that you can find anywhere. Our eggs were cooked perfectly and everything went well together. We would both order these again if there wasn't so much on the menu we still want to try!
After our meal the bar surprised us with tastings of their new seasonal house wine, a Strawberry Rhubarb Spritz. It was so good we decided to sign up for their wine club, which the wine is exclusive to. We have already made reservations to come back for dinner to celebrate our Anniversary in a few weeks! I can't wait!
My only critique is that I wish the 1 bottle tier of the wine club came with a tasting like all of the...
Read moreI’ll cut right to it: I love this place! It has a fresh, vibrant, cosmopolitan vibe. Seating was very comfortable. It was crowded and a bit noisy. I like the separated areas: the wine bar the length of a runway, the regular bar area with respective casual seating, and the formal dining area. Our server was so nice and friendly. She was very knowledgeable of the menu. Drinks, apps, and entrees were all delivered in a timely manner; service was prompt, no long waits between courses. The bruschetta was bright and fresh, more a variation of a caprese, with creamy and fresh burrata complementing sweet cherry tomatoes and drizzled with balsamic glaze (I love the glaze) all served atop 2 large crostinis. I ordered the Blackened Ahi tuna, as recommended by the server, and it was a wonderful combination of tastes and textures. The soft mild tuna brought to another level with the crunchy Asian slaw, rice, and a ‘bam!’ of wasabi sauce. A cup of soy sauce is also provided for even more flavor. It’s a lot on the plate, but so so good. It’s very easy to clean. The scallops & shrimp dish was presented with plenty of seafood. The spinach truffle risotto added nice creaminess and complimented the flavors in the scallops and shrimps. If you don’t like the taste of truffle, this isn’t the dish for you. CH did not skimp on the portions, which is good considering the price of the meals. They seem a bit pricey, but it’s worth it (from the atmosphere to the quality of the food.) It also meant we didn’t have room for dessert. It was our first time there. Since they have a fairly extensive menu, there’s good reason to return and try a different dish. Oh gosh,...
Read moreWe've been here twice - the first time the service was on the verge of bad, but last night, it was truly awful.
We were told we'd get samples of a couple of wines to decide which bottle we might want to order for the table. The waiter then disappeared for 15+ minutes before coming back and acting bewildered that we hadn't gotten our samples. He then said he would get them himself... we saw him around multiple times serving other tables, but without making eye contact with us. It was another 15 minutes before he brought us samples. In the meantime, our food arrived. He didn't come by again to ask us what wine we wanted to order for quite a while... the wine then took even more time to actually arrive at the table... You get the idea - 15 minutes or so between each of these interactions. All said and done, 3 out of the 4 people at our table had finished our meals before the wine even arrived! Worst of all, no apology or acknowledgement of this fact by the waiter.
Now the food - two of us got the butternut squash gnocchi and it was so gluey (but the sauce was good) we needed water (since we didn't have our wine) to wash it down. Unfortunately, it also caused a stomach upset for both of us that ate it, probably from the undercooked/over 'glutenized' gnocchi. The other two in the party ordered fish and they were satisfied with their meals.
Overall, a terrible experience - and after we raved about this place to the guests we brought along. We like their wine and got the membership mostly to dine in at the restaurant. But after this experience, we are probably going to cancel our wine...
