I’ll preface my comment by saying I LOVE bubble tea. I’ve been to most of the bubble tea shops in Madison and they’re all delicious in their own way. That being said, I honestly debated giving Candy Cloud a 2 or 3 star review because it was so lack-luster. I was very excited to try a new bubble tea shop and the photos on their website all look tantalizingly delicious. I bought 2 drinks; a classic milky black tea with oatmilk, half sweetness, and tapioca pearls (this is the one in the photo). It was a very simple tea, nothing exciting about it, the tapioca pearls were cooked well. The second one (unfortunately not pictured) was their featured S’mores shake. I added toffee pieces. It did not taste like s’mores. It was sweet because it’s an ice cream based drink with marshmallow fluff, chocolate chips, and the added toffee pieces. But if I was blindfolded and asked to guess the flavor, I would’ve never guessed s’mores. I wasn’t able to enjoy all of the chocolate chips and toffee pieces because of the stupid (yes stupid) design of the cup/can. The drinking vessel is what I have the biggest issue with, at Candy Cloud. I understand it’s a “cute” design, but it is not practical in any way. It is a mixed material cup (plastic cup, aluminum top) and mixed materials are not recyclable. So enjoy your drink for 10 min and the cup can outlive all of our lifespans 👍🏻. The top cannot be pulled off (I tried). The only way I can see getting to any of the remaining boba or other additives, is by cutting into the cup, which I didn’t want to do. I also did not enjoy putting the big plastic straw into the narrow mouth opening of the soda can top. Plastic on metal shivers. The cup is also quite small compared to other bubble tea shops and their price points. The straw is also too long for the size of the cup/can. I’ve included a photo of a taro milk tea with lychee jellies and tapioca pearls from Yummee for comparison. I get more volume and flavor in my cup from every other bubble tea shop, than I had from Candy Cloud. Check it out, form your own opinion, but I never plan...
Read moreI did not try any of their food so this review is for drinks
It's a cute store reside in the middle of a shopping mall.
There is parking right outside, I was able to find a spot close to the store.
Kiosks are like other bubble tea places. Staff is friendly and helpful during the ordering process.
Okie doke...so .
Cute canned container.
They have a limited 'true bubble tea items' on the menu. It's more like a little cafe where you can order food and drinks with Tapioca.
I ordered: Large Milk tea: Light ice, whole milk, Half sugar, with tapioca. Large iced Horchata
Milk tea, I can barely taste the tea flavor and taste like watered down milk. I ordered less sugar, and was not expecting less flavor. If they use powder / premade tea that already came with sugar, they need to let people know that order with less sugar, it'll dilute tea flavor. Tapioca was ok. On the softer side of chewy, at least it's not mushy.
Ice Horchata iced. Flavor, meh. Get a pass, but would not order or recommend to order. Just go to your local Mexican restaurant and order.
I would say try it if you are not looking for the usual bubble tea menu. I personally would not...
Read moreThis is the first Google review I have ever posted . I wanted to share a very negative experience today . I stopped in for a breakfast sandwich been a regular Customer and always positive experiences until today . I ordered a breakfast sandwich , and after receiving My sandwich politely asked for a cup of water.. The Young Lady said there would be a charge , which I said I had been here about six times and never was asked to pay for a cup of water , which I explained , and I understood next tim I will payem , but asked if She could make an exception which She did and I was fine with and was satisfied with . She thought I had left the store and started talking about Me to Her coworkers , I heard everything, "this Guy said He has been here 6 since times and never had to pay for water and some other things I couldn't make out ." I immediately jumped out out My seat , and addressed this and asked for Her name. Her unprofessionalism and rude behavior to a Senior 55 + is unacceptable .and should be addressed . I asked her name , but She refused . I will...
