I usually enjoy noodles and company. As a vegetarian I tend to appreciate places that have options for me. Unfortunately I do believe that this will have been my first and last experience at this location. I ordered a bowl of penne rosa with tofu and a side of the tomato basil bisqe. The pasta came out without the tofu and my soup wasn't brought to the table either. The expedier went and grabbed my soup in fairly short order but the best thing I could say about it was that it was hot. It tasted like it had either been sitting there all day or maybe it was burnt. My husband took my pasta back up to the register to get the tofu. He was told that the cashier didn't ring it in. So he paid for it and they sent the bowl of pasta back with him to the table. First of all it wasn't very warm when it came out but neither was his food. By the time they finally got the tofu to the table the rest of the dish was cold. I asked the cashier where the sauce for the tofu was and she tried telling me that it was on there. Now I am neither blind nor lacking the sense of smell. There very obviously was no sauce on it. I was so upset about the repeated mistakes that I didn't feel like I could keep my cool trying to get things fixed yet again. I ended up trying to eat the cold food but after a few bites I decided that it was probably the best idea to just leave so as not to cause a scene. First it was my pad Thai noodles were under or overcooked (half crunchy half not), I've had both my chicken and egg charred a bit beyond normal grilling on separate occasions, one time they forgot the double meat (ordered chicken and shrimp, only got shrimp. This was handled wonderfully by whoever answered the phone and we received a hand written apology and a coupon for a free bowl but it would have been nicer if we hadn't had to deal with it), and went in recently and got the chicken Veracruz salad and the amount of avocado I got was miniscle and it was browning along with some of the lettuce. It was all still edible but not ideal and as I often get it to go, it's not worth the energy of driving all the way back. Read moreWe had a situation where the caesar dressing for our salad was not in the bag and the juice for our kids meal was missing as well. We called and talked to one of the managers who said we would get two free meals the next time we came in, which was perfect! When we went in a week later, that manager was no longer there and Omar was the new manager. Omar listened to our story and ended up covering our entire meal, which was amazing! He could have just said "sorry, that manager is no longer here" and not given us anything.
As he brought the food out, he apologized again and explained that this stuff happens, which we understand, and gave us free rice krispies as well. After that we had a nice conversation for a couple minutes and he said our experience is his first priority. I've been working in customer service roles for the last 20 years and you don't see this kind of care, and willingness to help, too often.
