Miggy’s Bakes — Restaurant in Middleton

Unfortunately I'm 0/2 with experiences at this bakery. Last year we successfully purchased a birthday cake and even delivered our own cake toppers to the bakery shop to match the birthday theme. But when we got the cake home, we discovered that the cake toppers had not been used. So our 5 year old had a cake with no decorations at all. Fast forward to this year and I decided to give them another chance. I called the bakery to complete an order inquiry and was told someone would call me back to finalize. Nobody ever called me back. When I did reach out they informed me they couldn’t complete my order as requested. The customer service and organization has let me down now twice. In both instances the bakery owner didn’t offer or provide any compensation or gestures to acknowledge/remediate the issues. I won't be going back.

Update, in response to the inquiry I emailed the owner and here was her response:

Hi Shelby,

I dropped off the cake toppers on Friday, but doesn't look like they got used. Could you send them back to me please so I can return them?

She ended up not returning them and refunded me for my personal cost to buy them. No compensation for my time...

I really wanted to like this place. I got a cake here for my 21st birthday and the flavor was amazing!! All my friends loved the cookie dough flavor and so did I but the issue was with the decorating. I sent in 3 pictures of cake designs that I liked with details about what I liked about them and was hoping they can incorporate all 3 onto one cake. Miggy's took the design I didn't want and based my cake on it. I sent a picture of how I would like the buttercream/icing design to look and how I wanted the 21 to be spelled out on the cake. I got the complete opposite. I wish they would have told me they couldn't have done it since I paid $75 for it (which is a lot of money for a college student) and was really disappointed. I wanted to have Shelby make my cake even before she opened her store front because I saw how talented she was. I am hoping this was a big miscommunication but wanted to write this review to make sure this doesn't happen to another girl since it is really heartbreaking and that all details are clarified about what is being made before payment. WE LOVE MIGGY'S!

Shelby and the Miggy’s team are the absolute BEST. Shelby helped us decide on the perfect dessert for our wedding and was so communicative, responsive, kind, and helpful throughout our planning process. We ended up choosing their ice cream sandwiches with Miggy’s cookies and Babcock ice cream and they were SO GOOD. She even made sure to find out what kind of storage our venue had and how quickly the venue could refrigerate the sammies in order to know how to best package them.

We got so many compliments on the ice cream sandwiches and people asking where they could get more. They were such a hit! We were even lucky to get a few leftover to take home and enjoy after the wedding too!

Shelby is so sweet and we're so thankful for her communication and help throughout that decision making process. We couldn't be more grateful and appreciative of working with her and could not recommend her enough for all your sweet tooth and wedding needs! Miggy's Bakes opening in Middleton was the best thing to happen...
