Went to dinner with a friend. We had two appetizers, truffle fries, which came with two dipping sauces. We also had beets that came with garlic toast rounds and goat cheese. She had the Beef Stroganoff. The noodles had a nice bite, and the beef tenderloin pieces were tender and sized for a good bite. The stroganoff had bell peppers, porcini mushrooms, and onions. The sauce was the right consistency. I had the seafood fettuccine. It included clams, mussels, shrimp, and scallops. The fettuccine has a white wine garlic butter sauce with tomatoes, spinach, and some chili flakes, which added a pleasent bit of heat to the dish. We had Tiramissu (the coffee in the lady fingers could be tasted) and Creme Brulee for dessert. The desserts were very good, and both of them included berries with a bit of berry sauce. I had a Blood Orange sour, and she had a Stamm Mule. Both drinks were well prepared and tasted good. My friend was having trouble with one of her legs, so we sat on the first floor. We hope to have a seat in the main dining room upstairs on our next visit. Some people were enjoying the patio experience. We were unaware of the patio option seating and did not have a light jacket along, so we decided to stay inside to prevent a chill from the nice but slightly chilling weather. We look forward to our next visit. There is plenty of parking behind the restaurant. If you have trouble walking? You may want to have your driver deliver you closer to the entrance. There is handicap parking available.

Honestly it was a mixed experience. For a fine dining restaurant, the food quality was a bit suspect. The Chicken Parmesan was cold and the beef in the beef stroganoff was tough and grissley. We had them replace the chicken parmesan and it came out steaming hot the second time. On the plus side, the service was great from Charlie. The portion sizes were huge. I wish there were more mashed potato/vegatable sides. A lot of pasta choices. The Chicken Marsala was one of the better dishes, but the pasta was pretty al dente. The farm burger with the sunny side egg (see picture) was really good. Pesto Pappardelle was also good. We added 3 jumbo shrimp for an extra $9 (ouch), but they were delicious. A couple of side notes: It was my daughters 25th birthday, but we were told that they don't do anything special for birthdays. That really surprised us, I just assumed a birthday desert maybe? No fresh bread was offered. Again I found this surprising for a high end dining place. Drinks were good, especially the orange bourbon. And reasonably priced for a high end restaurant ($7 to $10)

It was a busy night with only one server upstairs, but with folks helping drop off the dishes it helped a lot. I chose this location to be for my birthday meal as I loved the rich history and haven't been able to visit (i work nearby) yet. I was eager to see the inside and try the menu. I ordered the Blood Orange Bourbon Sour and that was lovely. We tried thr cheese curds, very melt in your mouth buttery goodness. My husband got the sirloin with roasted potatoes and tossed greens. The dressing on the greens is a strong vinaigrette which was a nice balance with the richness of the potatoes and sirloin. The sirloin was ok, maybe the cut was making the meat more chewy than melt in your mouth type. I had the shrimp and scallops with penne. It was good, the scallops were a bit overdone but there were only two so that's fine. I had the pumpkin pie and that was well spiced (all spice, as it wasn't too nutmeg, too cinnamon or clovy). Overall good food, but perhaps we just didn't choose the right meal for our first visit as we felt that we should come back before recommending.

I was going to wait to review until I cooled down from THE WORST DINING EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE but I thought if I can save one person from throwing their money away... it will be worth it. I'd actually give this no stars, if possible.

To say we were disappointed would be a supreme understatement. To say we were treated with disrespect and callousness would be closer to the truth. To say we were offended, harassed, humiliated and degraded would be completely accurate.

The food, with it's VERY limited menu, minuscule portions and 4 entrees, was the best thing about our experience. Well, it may have been had we not waited over an hour to be served after ordering. And that was AFTER we waited for a half hour past our reservation time to even be sat (and 20 minutes for a bottle of beer? get out!).

Our waitress was friendly enough at first but had no knowledge of the menu (did I mention there were only 4 ENTREES?!) and certainly not apologetic after 4 inquiries into the status our food. She said, and I quote, "The chef is a big scary dude and he doesn't look too happy right now, so I was scared to ask". What. Being a restaurant in its infancy, we were prepared to wait and even expected a few hiccups along the way. No Big Deal. We are reasonable people, if not to a fault. If that was all that happened, I'd maybe consider going back. But wait for it...

The entrees (we tried 3 of the 4) were tiny portions and cold. No one came by to ask about our food or offer more drinks. After finishing our meal, we went to talk to the owner, and he said "I've been putting fires out all night and I'll be right over to talk to you". Guess what? He never came over. And guess what else? The round of "comped drinks" the waitress ensured us was never taken off our bill BECAUSE SHE GAVE US THE WRONG CHECK! My husband went over to get the bill corrected, and said in frustration, "Jesus Christ, you can't even get the bill right?" (yes, looking back, not his finest moment) . She finally ran our card and went OUT OF HER WAY to avoid him and brought the receipt to me to sign. She then went on to approach my husband, dripping with sarcasm, and said "Thanks a lot for cussing me out in front of my other tables, I really appreciate it." Ok... That 10% tip (which is far under the our usual but still NOT deserved) just dropped to 0%. Finally we got the bill squared away and and walked out never to return.

And you know what? The nightmare didn't stop there! We walked out with another disgusted couple who waited around for 30 minutes after ordering their fish to be told that they "ran out". While trading horror stories in the parking lot, the owner approached us and said that "he does not tolerate verbal abuse to his staff and we are no longer welcome." and "I comped you drinks and you can't even be bothered to tip on a $100 bill?" Since when are customers required to tip for lack-luster food, terrible service and aggressive behavior from the staff? And seriously, he's lucky we paid our bill at all. And he most certainly doesn't have to worry about us or our few thousand closest friends and family returning. Not happening. Well here's the tip I wanted to leave... Take your overpriced, miniscule-portioned, hipster-infused dining “experience” out of Middleton and turn this restaurant over to someone who is willing to treat both the patrons and the establishment with the respect that this piece of history deserves.

Looking back, It's a damn good thing that we had to wait an hour in between drinks, otherwise I'm pretty sure my husband would have hauled off and decked him. A review from jail might not be quite as...

We went on a quiet Sunday with a 5pm reservation on the patio. The food was perfectly fine, unfortunately the service was absolutely abysmal. Our waitress, while cheerful, was disorganized and inattentive. We were quickly served drinks but then the wrong appetizers. She explained she hit the wrong button which is understandable. Then, our appetizers came out within decent time, but our main dishes came at the same time. Two waiters and a kitchen staff person tried to shuffle blame and plates around and asked us if we would like them to "hold" our mains. Given that they would have gone under a hot light we declined and politely took all the food at once. We were confused but not too upset at that point. However we waited almost 45 min AFTER finishing our food for refills we had asked for when our food came and the check. There were a few tables inside and only one other couple on the patio In that time our waitress had seen to their table three times and kept holding up her finger to us or shouting "be right back with you!" Loudly across the patio. It was abysmal to the point of agitating. We really wanted to enjoy this place as we are foodies who love places like Quiveys Grove, Tornado Room, and Delmonico's. Unfortunately the service and lack of attentiveness mixed with the very casual "fast food" attitude of our waitress even when politely letting her know our issues will keep us from ever spending the prices they're asking for a nice meal and cocktails (over $100) there again or recommending it to others.

Additional star removed for: our waitress was maybe a but too chummy. She insisted she would remove our apps from the check and my spouse pulled it out today and pointed out she did not at all. Her inattentiveness and lack of professionalism really ruined our chances of...

New Experience -⭐⭐⭐⭐ Overall, I like the new menu. Cheese Curds were a disappointment for WI so I will definitely be trying something new next time. More potato options should be offered for steaks or dinner dishes. I also think the cooks should learn what a carmelized onion is. If it's on the menu, know it.

Prior Experience - ⭐ My wife and I live near the Stamm House and were excited about the reopening of the restaurant. We waited 3 weeks after the opening hoping the opening rush would mellow a little. We did not know they recommended a reservation though they were able to seat us right away. After that it was all down hill. We were told our waiter would be over soon. Soon turned into 20 minutes later. He apologized for the wait and he took our drink order. He was about to walk away when we quickly said we were ready to order food as well. 20 minutes to read a small, small, very small menu. You would think your mind would be made up in that long sit talking about butter, right?? Now my patience was really being tested. It took another 20 minutes to receive the drinks!!! 45 minutes after receiving the drinks we finally got our food. We ordered another round of drinks. They never came back until we were done. I looked at the receipt and they charged us for the drinks we never got! I am now %!$$#@. No second round. No checking in. Both our burgers were not right. I am so upset with this place I am shocked they are still doing business. When I asked for the manager, the guy never came over. I honestly think you owe us a better experience. But after being brushed off, I know they don't care. It is also sad that most people I speak to have also had bad...
