Mav's Top Buns — Restaurant in Middletown Township

Oh my sweet goodness. I've been dying to try mav's buns for over a year now and finally came to try them on my day off. I drove 30 mins to get them and IT WAS WORTH IT.

I got the Halloween funnest and OG baby buns and I wish I bought more. They're literally a million times better version of the big chain Cinnabon store. Everything was just the right amount of sweet and soft. The frosting is the perfect amount of sweet + cream cheese(?) and it is just silky smooth and literally melts in your mouth. You can even see the flecks of vanilla bean too. The bun was pillowy soft and cinnamon-y.

To top it all off, the staff were incredibly friendly as I walked in with my trolls/fairy costume on Halloween. The owner is also so engaging and nice on instagram. Did I mention that for every purchase you make, there is a QR code on the cinnnamon box that you can scan to donate a meal?! How incredibly nice! It makes me root for their success even more. Mav’s Top Buns are THE BEST cinnamon buns I’ve ever had in my life. The pillowy brioche and glaze of the OG Buns are a must try for anyone new to the Bun Cult. The inventive and ever-changing flavors keep things fresh week after week. My wife and I have our favorites and when they hit Instagram for the upcoming menu, you know we’ll be making the trip to Middletown that weekend!

Perhaps even better than the buns are the people behind them. A true family owned business, Nikki and Mike greet everyone with the excitement of reuniting with long lost friends, even if it’s your first time in the door. Definitely follow them on Instagram, in no time you’ll feel like you’re part of the family too - and you’ll certainly be members of the Bun Cult!

Definitely try their other offerings as well. Their chocolate babka is out of this world, so much so that I’m counting the days to try their cookie ice...

Not my 1st Mav’s bun purchase & certainly won’t be my last. I LOVE these buns. Giant pillowy brioche style buns that treat the tastebuds! Every time I think they can’t top their current flavors they introduce another showstopper. They truly capture each specialty flavor. From their Rainbow cookie flavor to their Apple Crisp just sooo sooo good. I love getting the variety box so I can try each flavor on the weeks menu. The buns are so big I cut them in half & freeze them for a later splurge. They freeze beautifully & taste just as good reheated in the microwave. Their new storefront is absolutely adorable and the staff is so friendly. The owners could not be more personable & community driven. GREAT GREAT people. Highly recommend stopping by Fri-Sun when they are open and grabbing a box!
