This location hasn't had the best track record for restaurants in the past, went in with low expectations. Honestly I was expecting a buffet style bodega. The atmosphere was very lively, the place looked great, love what they've done with the place. I ordered chicken and steak arroz chaufa (fried rice), and an order of empanadas. It was their first day so I'll give them a pass but I did end up waiting like half an hour for my order. There wasn't really a pickup area so we ended up sitting at a table waiting. All the meals that passed by us looked amazing. I will point out that the place is a bit pricey. The portion I received was enough for 3 people to share. In exchange for the premium price I got some AMAZING FOOD with quality ingredients. I got my money's worth. Lots of steak and chicken in my rice, steak was not chewy at all, chicken was moist. Delicious!! Chef's kiss! My family and I were driving home from Mystic CT and ordered take out for the road. The man answering the phone made sure I got everything I wanted. Upon entering to pick up our food, the restaurant was beautiful inside and clean. I love the neon signs. I believe one said "cooking with love" or something along those lines, and I can guarantee you they definitely are "cooking with love". We ordered the tostones and added garlic sauce on the side, 3 chicken empanadas and the birria tacos. The best I had out to eat. The garlic sauce with the tostones and the juicy chicken inside the pillowy empanadas were so so good! The birria tacos had tender, moist beef inside. Ordered 2 appetizers. Only got 1 they forgot about the other. When I asked about other I asked to get it in a to go container for after I finished my dinner. Person I was with got his food first I got mine 10 min later. I got the seafood mix Morongo for $40 which really had a bland taste. Server apologized 3 times for error in not bringing me the appetizer. My appetizer had choice of fries or plantains I asked for fries. When I get home and open the container it has plantains on not fries.
