Lee's Famous Recipe Chicken — Restaurant in Middletown

Stopped by after church to get lunch. Went through the drive thru. Order my meal and was asked to pull to the window. I did and a young man was working. Gave me the total. No greeting or anything. Just my total. Hand him my card, I said thank you and he said “yup”. Handed me card back, I said thank you and said “yup”. Waited a couple minutes and then he handed me the bag. I again said thank you and he said “yup”. As I was putting the bag on the passenger seat and getting ready to pull away, I noticed he was already on his cell phone. With the tone of the “yups” and the fact I was not even away yet and he was on his phone, I feel like I was inconveniencing him. He was the person I was having interactions with and therefore he was the face of Lees during my visit. I must say it was not a good impression. When I go to a place, I want to be greeted and feel welcome. Unfortunately that did not happen. The cell phone made it worse for me. If you have to get on phone, be out of view of the customers. To me, whoever he was texting was more important than the customer. Food was great!!!!! This review is strictly the poor service...

During the day, I’ve never had a problem with their food. It’s always been fast, hot, and fresh. The chicken has always been good during the day, being fresh large strips, and being crispy, and juicy. However, do NOT go here if it’s an hour or less before they close. They will not have fresh food, nor will they make fresh food. I’ve never been so disappointed. I ordered a 3 piece strip meal, my partner ordered the 5 piece strip meal. The pieces were a lot smaller than usual. Turns out, they were basically balls of breading with almost no chicken inside them. The ones with chicken, were old. They were so dried out, they were difficult to bite and chew. The breading was so hard, it cut up both of our mouths. The chicken, was dryer than a desert. For the price paid, this is upsetting. There was no quality. The pieces of chicken were not edible. However, at least the sides of mashed potatoes and gravy and the cole slaw were still ok. My partner said the mac and cheese...

Dining room. Is still not open. 4/15/2022 even though web site says dining room is open. No excuse for web error given. Staffing excuse given for lack of dining room. Really, you only ever had maybe one extra person for front register/dining room attendant. Yo can find one person for the job for each shift. Also if I have a problem with my order which has been happening a lot since the dining room closure then I have to go wait in drive thru line to get your mistake fixed. Clever most people won't wait so you don't have to repair your damage. I have been coming to the Verity Parkway store since it opened until now.. Franklin Dining room is open. So I am going all the way there to eat....
