Veracruz Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Middletown

Customer once during each week the last 5yrs or so. Let's talk about 9/26/21 went for my weekly visit with the fam like always. Not only was the service/food was the worst I've seen since my many years of consuming what normally is the best food to be found. Server took our order forgot to bring us drinks for over 10mins no big deal right Server took our order read it back sounded great. Trust me when I say never change my order same every time. Chips and salsa come out 2 cups of salsa for 4 people when usually it's one for each ok no big deal again. Except the drinks have not arrived yet. My food shows up first completely wrong Server sort of jokes about it. Once again no big deal I'm a chef I get it mistakes happen. Drinks still haven't showed up this point I could've got it myself. My dinner shows back up right with my 2 toddlers meals yet the missing one dinner chicken fajitas with no beans soft shell. Second dinner shows up with beans no biggie hungry been waiting 30 mins no worries eat around. Oh wait no flour tortillas!!!!! Tell server once again he sort of blows it off like ha ha 😂 we forgot something else besides the drinks and the 2 salsas that didn't come yeah your batting 1000 here. This point it is starting to look like the service on Sunday is HORRIBLE. Usually bill is 37 bucks I round out to 50 keep the change. Not this day Veracruz really slacked off on this dinner first bad meal I've had here ever. Alternatively the service and food is spot on unfortunately today is not the case. I told the host also huummmm once again I was blown off. Basically I'm in the food service industry it's rough I get it but when you have customers that frequently visit the establishment the expectation gets created and today just wasn't the best Veracruz experience

So on 4/3/2024 gave this place a try again thinking ownership would have fixed up the place. With no success once again crap experience with server being super rude arguing with the customers. Server then gets mad and storms off outside with another server and proceeds to talk about customers. Upon returning the rest of the front of house staff walks by table laughing making comments etc. So ownership fixed place by adding some new decor paint. Don't eat here the staff doesn't care food horrible. Oh by the way that rude server ended up getting 10 buck tip for showing me how rude and inconsiderate she could be. Don't eat this...

I stumbled upon Vera Cruz Mexican Restaurant and honestly, it blew me away! From the moment I walked in, the place had a warm, welcoming vibe with colorful décor and the smell of fresh tortillas in the air. Food: Every dish we tried was packed with flavor. The carne asada was perfectly seasoned and juicy, and the street tacos were simple but amazing—just how they should be. Chips and salsa came out right away, and the salsa had just the right kick. I also recommend the enchiladas verdes—tangy, cheesy, and super satisfying. Drinks: I had a classic margarita and it hit the spot. Service: The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive without being pushy. Food came out hot and fast. They even checked in more than once to make sure everything was good. Prices: Super reasonable for the portion sizes and quality. Definitely a good value for the money.

I've never in my life had a worse experience at a restaurant. My husband eats here frequently and it was my first time. I ordered chicken Diablo and fajitas to go. The way they handed me my bags had the piping hot sauce from the chicken Diablo spilling completely out of the container burning my legs. When I arrived at my destination not 5 minutes away everything in the chicken Diablo bag was soaked in the sauce making a ridiculous mess. And on top of that my fajitas were a mess inside the container. I brought the food back and asked for it to be remade due to the condition I recieved the food. The host basically said it was my fault that it was spilled out and they'd only remake the Diablo chicken. I asked to speak to a manager and she refused to let me speak to him. She said wasn't there. So I asked for a phone number to get in contact with him and she wouldn't give me one. I asked for his name and she only told me his first name, Jose, and refused to give me his last name.
