WARNING THIS STORE IS PREJUDICE TO THE LBGT COMMUNITY!!!!! For 2 years I recommended this store to everyone. It was my favorite thrift store the woman in there was always very friendly to me and my friends that would be with me. But my opinion has now changed I took my wife in with me a couple weeks ago and had picked out probably between the both of us $100 worth of clothes I tried them all on as I normally would. As did she.. Well I noticed from the time I went in there that the woman was watching me and my wife like a hawk and she wasn't as friendly as she normally is. Well I ignored the fact that she completely abandon her register to sit right out side the dressing room we were using just to watch us even closer. But when I went up to cash out my items. I informed her that one of the pairs of jeans I had tried on that the tag had came off when i was getting them over my hips to try them on that it had said they were $8.00 but I would gladly pay whatever she seen fit. She tried to charge me $12. I told her to go ahead and ring up the rest that if I had enough money after everything I would still take them (even though she jacked the price up $4 more than the tagged price) it was still a good deal they were very nice jeans. Well she started to go through and ring stuff up but I noticed she kept taking the stuff I had and throwing it behind her and not ringing it up. (Through this whole transaction she was very rude to the both of us which I did not understand why she was treating us this way because she was normally very nice) So I asked her.. Why are you throwing my stuff to the side and not ringing it up? She said that the tags had been "Tampered" with and she refuses to sell them to me. I informed her that its hard to "Tamper" with a tag thats been STAPLED on to the clothing. But if she felt that way that I would gladly pay whatever price she named on the 6 to 7 items she through behind her that I had pleanty of money to spend on clothes I had been saving for a month to go shopping. She replied that she wasnt selling the items to me that I HAD TAMPERED WITH THE TAGS!!!! I told her well how could I have tampered with anything you have been watching me and my wife like a hawk since we came in like we were common criminals! She just shrugged her shoulders and continued to ring the rest of the items up. I then looked at my wife and said do you want to spend our money here shes treating us like were criminals and we havent done nothing wrong? My wife replied.. No not really.. The woman rudely interrupted our discussion. With I dont want to sell to you kind period!!! That meaning (LESBIANS) And she told us to leave her store and not come back. I cried like a baby im 28 years old and never been so disrespected in my life!! The woman is of Muslim persuasion and I know that they dont agree with the LGBT community. But if your going to run an business on the USA our country has fought for our rights and you need to respect them or leave!!! You dont treat people like that just because you dont believe in what im doing. I will never return to this store and discourage any and all not to as well she is a horrible person. Not because of her beliefs but the fact that shes in the land of the free so those beliefs need to be kept to herself when running a business in the home of the free and the brave! She also kicked my other friend out of her store saying she was stealing who is also openly gay I mean she has a gay pride tattoo on her arm and a fade so its pretty noticeable. The woman is clearly a biggot to the...
Read moreThere a lot of items to choose from. I thought it was tiny bit high but I just came from Texas and I haven't done much thrifting since covid and inflation. However, the woman/ Owner maybe? followed me the entire time. Seriously. I'm 51 years old. It was uncomfortable and I was so excited to go thrifting. I was on the phone with my BFF the whole time so I couldn't even really talk to her either because the lady was right there. The racks were ]]over crowded which took more time and more awkward shopping. Couldn't even really look. Maybe she will recognize me next time. Or may she will put up some of those cameras she has for sale. I just chalked up to her culture and she was nice. On that note, similarly An American lady started working at my goodwill in Texas. Karen. She always had something to say or do. Especially about prices come payment time. No tag? You paid the highest price. That stuff is free and no goodwill does that. I got to the point where I didn't like how I was treating her. Yet Karen was a true Karen. I wish I had a pic. No one liked her. It got to the point when I saw her I would Tell her do not come near me, do not hang stuff near, don't talk to me or my friends and you are not checking me out. That's not nice of me. I don't want myself or anyone else to have that tension at your happy place with some over zealous worker. That's what I worry about with this lady at the Middletown store. Ill say something to her if it were to continue. But apparently, this is an issue there. I'll give her a few more chances. I don't warn to be run out of a thrift store because of busy bodies. Plus, losing regular substantial customer when your making 100% commission on everything they buy. Not real business Savy. Disqualifier here: I am aware all thrift stores do not get all their items free. I am also aware many of them place big bends out for us donate our items while misleading us to believe it is going to charity.. I'm not saying this place does by any means. You may want to ask...
Read moreCame in to check the place out and pretty much every review is true. I absolutely LOVE the thrifting experience and I do travel from Dayton to Cincinnati thrifting for my business but this place was very uncomfortable. Just the atmosphere gave me a weird feeling, clothes were very unorganized, nothing was sorted by size so it was extremely hard to find anything at all. I did find a few things that I was very pleased with though. Check out area was super cluttered and not clean, lighting wasn’t good in the store at all.
And the prices were a little ridiculous. It’s a thrift store most people who go in there can’t afford brand new clothes, shoes etc. and they overpriced everything in there. So many people struggle now a days there’s no reason to sell coats and jackets at regular market value.
I don’t think I’ll ever go back here, I would honestly choose goodwills or even...
