Turkeys R Us (BBQ) — Restaurant in Middletown

Let's say this, Unprofessional. I did not eat my food after the first bite. Waited over 20 minutes for cooked food. While waiting, I see a sports car speed through the parking lot recklessly and pull up to the front door. There was a lady that ran into the establishment from the car and a man unloading the trunk with Sweet Baby Ray's Bbq sauce jugs and styrofoam containers. After that moment THEN I recieved my food. This wasn't even close to closing time and was around 2pm or so.

My whole experience was below par. I pull up to the window to place my order and I hear one of their young staff members screaming loudly as I'm trying to place my order. I asked about the "Turkey Tips" vs the Turkey leg. I was not given a discription of what the tips were. Especially since I made an inquiry. I was asked to pull into their waiting parking spaces after placing my order. I then noticed a male staff member with linty, dirty work clothes wandering through the parking lot. (They weren't dirty from a day's work today, they were just dirty.) No one had hair nets or masks and that was disturbing.

I finally got home to discover 3 pieces of turkey stips drenched in bbq with my 2 sides of mac and cheese with greens and cornbread. I called this establishment because I thought I recieved the wrong meal by mistake. 1. The young lady didn't even know how to explain what the turkey tips looked like. I was the one to tell her they look like "chicken tenders." She did nothing to manage my frustration and hung up without trying to resolve the issue. The greens were unseasoned, the mac was bland, the "tips really turkey breast tenders,' were dry and too thick, the cornbread was fed to my dog. I HATED my meal and threw it away. Never again!!! I hate throwing food away. Especially during covid when time and money is precious and...

Just found this place and in love! We tried the pulled pork, homemade collard greens, mac n cheese, baked beans, coleslaw & corn muffins. The pork was served wet, smokey & had the perfect amount of sauce and spice. Cooked right, not mushy and chunked just the way i like it, not shredded or diced. The portion of pulled pork was so generous there was enough to make 2 sandwiches from one serving! It came with a bun, which i didn't need so next time i will be sure to order it naked! Cole slaw was homemade and creamy. Mac n cheese not overcooked, real cheese and none of that runny processed stuff. The baked beans (vegan friendly) was a smokey sweet and amazingly seasoned. I've never tasted baked beans like these and want the recipe. I was unsure if i should order the collard greens because i hate mushy overcooked, so i asked about them first. The guy handed me a fork full of greens to taste right at the drive through window and OMG they are perfect! If you like collard greens you MUST order these! The sweet corn muffins go perfect with the bbq. We can't wait to go back and try more items on the menu, whitening fish, yams and fire roasted corn on the cob are on our to do list. Just got a delivery, yes a DELIVERY, from here. Started out by our order taken by Miss Shea over the phone. Not only was she super pleasant but extremely helpful as we were reading the menu on a cell phone, which was limited due to lack of service. But she got us through it. Had a medium sized order. Had 3 full meals and a few more add ons. Was told approx. 30-40 minutes for delivery. Was less than 30. Was delivered by Mr. BBQ himself, on his day off. He just happened to be at restaurant when we ordered. How many people do that nowadays??? The food that showed up - - - holy moly!!! First of all everything was hot, damn hot. The pork ribs were super meaty. Would hate to run into the hog they came from. WOW what a mouthful. The collard greens and green beans had really good seasoning. Not super spicy. Just right. The cornbread was fantastic. Nice and moist with a slight hint of butter flavor. I could fill up on those things alone. The catfish was lightly breaded and had a great, mild flavor.
