Hacienda Vieja — Restaurant in Midland

I went to this restaurant and sat at the bar to eat and have some drinks. After ordering a margarita on the rocks, that was poured out of a large tub of premixed liquid, I began looking at the menu.

About 30 seconds later the bartender caught my attention with the loud sneeze that she caught with her hands and proceeded to wipe her face and nose off with her fingers. I was already disgusted by seeing this so close to the ice tub and where I was sitting but continued watching only to see her begin making the next drink order without washing her hands or sanitizing at all. She poured two drinks for a table sitting in the bar area and with her bare hands reached into the fruit jar to get oranges for the drinks.

It was absolutely disgusting. I got up from the bar and asked to be receded and the table area by the manager. I explain to the manager (Hispanic guy, black and gray short hair, what happened and he didn’t seem to care.

After eating at my new table I was approached by the bartender with a check for the margarita that I had ordered and not taking any drinks out of before her sneeze explosion. I told her that I was not going to pay for that and the same manager approached the table.

The manager proceeded to defend her saying that she had been vaccinated and what is my problem with what happened. I was beyond shocked and told him this was not a Covid concern but a sanitary concern and that I did not want to be served by someone who sneezes and wipes their face and nose without cleaning adequately afterwards.

The food was decent but the health department certainly needs to inspect and review the sanitary measures in place at...

Today was my first time to visit this restaurant with my husband and daughter. It was not a good experience although the waiter was doing his job but we waited for like 40 minutes for our food. People and larger parties were getting their food before us. We finally asked the waiter about our food and he said it would be out in a few. Needless to say when we got our food it was cold. My daughter got a quesadilla,and I got tacos the meat was so cold and had no flavor. I was on my lunch break so I was upset because I spent my whole lunch sitting there waiting on my food and than to get it cold. After we spoke to the waiter he did take my plate....but when he brought it back it was still the same plate because, I had bit the jalapeno on my plate and my food was given to me cold again. I really wanted to like this place but I don't think we will be returning customers. My husband and I did speak with the Manager before we left so he could be informed of what happened, he was nice and he did give us a discount but first impressions are important. By far the worst Mexican restaurant I've been to in Texas the enchiladas we're absolutely horrendous and tasted like spaghetti o's the salsa tasted like dust or like they used old onions the rice was flavorless my husband had beef fajitas which weren't bad but didn't have much flavor the hosts were distracted and after waiting 15 minutes to be seated (not the problem) the host had to be pulled by the main host from conversation and rudly gestured for us to follow him the waiter was snappy and just expected us to lead in everything we had to ask for (I've been a server six years and I know he could've done better) wouldn't be upset with the service as much had the server not been seen conversating with every table other than our with a smile (other tables shared the same ethnic background) after all of this our bill was 25.03 and we were charged 26.00 not alot no be was done of pure laziness so it was more principle...
