IHOP — Restaurant in Midland

Wait was unesesaraly long due to the lack of concern from the employees. The person at the door went to sit a group at a table and never came back. 30 minutes later someone asked if we had been helped and placed us on the list and said it be 10 minutes since they were cleaning tables that very moment. She repeated that 10 lie for 30 minutes to every customer that showed up. After she read 6 names on the list of people who left we were called.

We sit at our table got the menus and waited. 30 minutes later the winter in our section was hanging out at the table next to us just visiting with his friends who were done with their meal but seem to just be hanging out. We had to ask him for drinks and he was surprised nobody had assisted us yet. He took our order of drinks and we waited another 20 minutes. When the drinks came we ordered food and waited for another 30 minutes. By the time we got our food it was 2:00 AM and we had been there over 2 hours to get over cooked food and a half right order of which we ate what we could from it, promptly paid our bill and left.

I would suggest you go to Whataburger but since that was our original plan that was changed once we saw the 300 cars at each of the 3 whataburgers in the area, I suggest you don't go out to eat on a Friday night in Midland unless you are ready to wait in line at Whataburger or to get the worst service at ihop.

Not recommended not even for after the bar or if you are driving by on your way...

Worst service ever waited 15 min at the door before we were greeted and told it was gonna be a min they had to clean tables when there were plenty of clean tables you could see from the door. We then spent one and a half hrs from the time we were seated till we were done eating in which we saw our waitress 3 times. I asked to speak to a manager just to let him know and didn't ask for anything and assured him we would return. I waited 30 minutes for my check after speaking with him and never saw our waitress. I then asked to speak to the manager again and explained to him I wasn't paying for the service after waiting 30 minutes after talking to him for a reciept. He tried to explain to me that they were short staffed.. There were 4 servers working 7 tables ours had 3, 2 of which were there before us. He refused to comp the meal and I asked him did I ask you for any discount before I just made a complaint was ready to pay and leave a poor tip and have a better experience next time. I walked off and got the waitress who had said she had been over there numerous times to check on us. When I asked if she had been over since I spoke with the manager she got angry and started yelling to just comp the meal if we don't want to pay for it. They did comp the meal and we left. I have never not paid for or asked for a discount and never left no tip or a penny tip but this was unacceptable and my children were ready for bed falling asleep...

Ate here while shopping last month and was very disappointed with both the food and the service. Ate with my parents; my mother ordered a plate of plain crepes with syrup on the side; they only put one crepe on the plate, and it clearly had been microwaved. My father ordered a mocha flavored iced coffee drink. They brought him regular brewed coffee that had been poured over ice, no flavor, no cream, no sugar, nothing. The waitress insisted that this was what the manager had told her an iced mocha was, and would not listen to anything we had to say on the matter.

She clearly was new, so I was trying to be as gentle as possible with her, but the problem wasn't just ignorance of the menu; my mother ordered tomato juice, which they were out of, then ordered apple juice, as I did also. It came out lukewarm. Not even a little cool. I ordered pancakes with scrambled eggs, hash browns, and sausages, and the only thing that was edible was the pancakes. Eggs were rubbery and cold, hashbrowns were undercooked, and the sausages were cool and greasy.

All of this, and it took at least 30 minutes for the food to be ready, even though there were no more than 5 tables in the whole restaurant.
