Cotton Patch Cafe — Restaurant in Midland

I want to start my review with a quick statement. If you've been here before and have had some kind of bad experience with the food or with the staff, then you must have been somewhere else!! My wife and I stopped by to have lunch because we're new to Midland Texas and have passed by the Cotton Patch Cafe long enough to finally give it a shot, and let me tell you we were very happy that we did.. The Hostess sat us down very quickly and our server ' Sayra ' greeted us, took the drink order and then brought them back along with these amazing warm and fresh Homemade house dinner rolls!! The rolls reminded of a famous old school (Parker House Roll). Anyway, I ordered a Chicken Fried Chicken Sandwich with fries and my wife ordered a the Patty Melt with Fries. Now. My chicken sandwich HANDS DOWN was the best I've ever had and if you ever put it up against Popeye's, Wendy's, or KFC, this sandwich would slap them down to a " go back and learn something level!!" Yes, it truly was just that good. The Patty Melt my wife ordered was next level as well, with a hand formed patty, juicy caramelized onions and melted swiss cheese, all on toasted bread. That Chicken Fried Chicken Sandwich is a perfectly breaded chicken breast laid on top of a bed of pickles and Bacon Mayo, along with this toasted buttered bun!!! The fries were perfectly cooked and the appetizer of deep fried pickles were some of the best I had in my travels around the country. Ask for a side of Bacon Mayo, that stuff is good on...

First let me start by saying all of the other Cotton patches we've visited aim to pls. This store here was the worst experience we've ever had I'm so disappointed. First they didn't honor or coupon so fine we still ordered. So our drinks tasted like other drinks lemon seeds in our soda second the fries where soggy n the pork chop wasn't cooked completely that's very bad some of our sides looked n tasted as if they have been sitting around for a day but then when we didn't even finish our food asked for the check I had mentioned to our waitress how bad the items were n everything she didn't bother asking any questions or seemed concerned in anyway seemed like she just wanted to be done with her shift to leave which I get it some good days some bad but it doesn't excuse the over all experience cotton patch is known for and that's satisfaction from the customer. I didn't want to make a scene and call the manager on duty to complain so we just paid our tab n walked out feeling so disappointed with this store. Every other store aims to please but why didn't this store idk. Anyway I hope it's not always like that cuz most times they do have real good food n good service but today they failed. Our experience at the restaurant was unfortunately quite disappointing. We waited for over an hour to receive our appetizer, and when we brought this to the attention of the manager, she kindly offered not to charge us for it, which was a positive gesture. However, when the food finally arrived, we found that the appetizer was cold and the main dishes were lukewarm. The quality was not up to our expectations.

Specifically, my daughter's chicken tenders were chewy and seemed undercooked, while my son's burger was almost cold and the bun appeared stale. Moreover, throughout our visit, our waitress seemed more focused on engaging with customers at the bar rather than taking care of our needs. Despite requesting our ticket twice, she forgot to bring it to us, causing further frustration. We understand that the restaurant may be short-staffed, but we believe our waitress could have prioritized her tables over socializing with others.

Considering the amount of time we spent there and the overall disappointing experience, we have decided that we will not be returning. It is disheartening, especially considering the total bill amounted to over $80. We expected better service and quality for such a significant...
