My brother-in-law brought me here my first time in November 2022 (we were sent to get dinner for the family - (I had him choose the place and I was paying the bill) and there was seemingly a different atmosphere than what I have experienced recently. I was welcomed in a warm manner by smiling staff and a fun and welcoming atmosphere. I was offered several samples to help me decide what I wanted. The staff were all great. The tables were clean and the food was great! I was an awesome experience.
Been back three more times and it hasn't been the same since.
This last time, last week, we took mom out to lunch. Mom said she felt rushed to make a decision about plate choices even though there was nobody waiting behind us to order. The folks behind the counter seemed all business and no hospitality.
Eating in this time, we could not find a clean table. There was only one big booth occupied as we came in just a little past what I would imagine is the lunch rush hour. I approached the counter and asked for a towel to clean the table myself. Instead of answering me directly, the lady behind the register hollered to someone in a foreign language I don't understand. I stood there waiting about 90 seconds for someone to bring me a towel, but nobody came. When the girl behind the register realized I was not going away, she said someone would be out in a moment to clean our table. When that person came out, she grabbed a whole cleaning cart and she started on the other side of the tables (the 2 seaters) rather than coming to where we were trying to sit at the booth made for 4 people and so we waited 10 minutes to be able to sit despite my willingness to just be given a towel so I could wipe the food-laden table down myself.
I am grateful only that the food quality has not deteriorated in the last 6 months.
In conclusion: I realized the only reason I was treated with such kindness and respect was when I was with someone who they recognized as a regular customer. My basis for this conclusion? I saw them, while we were waiting for our mom's jalapeño chicken to be made fresh, become animated and welcoming to a man who walked in to order. One of them even said, "The usual?" to which the man replied in the affirmative, and a conversation ensued between the customer and several staff as they put together his order.
Being in a service industry myself in my business, I believe the effort to be kind, welcoming and joyful should be made with everyone we meet despite how it is received. It makes a world of difference for those of us who appreciate it. Even if we only observe from a distance.
Haven't you noticed? I tipped you 100% of my bill (I was paying for the whole family of 5 that night) during my first visit because you treated me so kindly and respectfully. The 2nd visit (Christmas week) I tipped 20% for a two person bill because everyone behind the counter seemed rushed and oblivious to everything and everyone but their immediate job. My 3rd visit only 10% because again, nobody did anything to deserve a tip. My last visit? I gave your staff no tip because I realized I wasn't respected, appreciated or liked to any degree resembling my first visit with my brother-in-law. Patrons are willing to pay for a good experience. Not a mediocre experience. And the better the experience, the more we pay. Just a fact of...
Read moreUpdate as of 3/23/2021 I came back but this time it was just me picking up dinner. Didnt think they recognize me. We've been coming here the moment they first opened. We get the same thing unless we are wanting a different craving. Today they treated me like family. Asked about my fiance and baby. We had a few laughs and it was very comfortable. This place definitely is the place to go not just for great food but for great company. I love this place so much. I always leave a tip when i am able to. I never had to complain about anything. Kungfu is the most amazing restaurant to go to. It is my number one favorite!
We were excited to see stir fry 88 turned into kungfu. We were sad seeing stir fry leaving the mall but kungfu is absolutely amazing. We come here pretty often. They always give our babygirl lollipops and plenty of their beef n broccoli. The flavor and freshness of their food never disappoints. We love coming here. 5 stars every time. Their shrimp, orange chicken, black pepper chicken and generals chicken is outstanding! We get the same time always. We...
Read moreI eat panda express pretty often and decided to try this place out since the overall reviews were pretty good and it's similar to panda.
Pros - they give you a very generous serving where you probably won't finish all. The price seems a bit high but for the amount of food they give you, it seems fair.
Cons- I'm not sure how this place has a high review but the food was below avg at best. I ordered bourbon chicken and general tso's. The bourbon chicken had no flavor, very bland. it was also a bit dried and you have to eat it with sauce just to put some flavor on it. General tso's chicken tasted like I was eating cheesy puff cheetos. The pieces are small round balls and I'm not sure if there were any chicken inside the fried layer. I ate quarter of the meal and threw the rest out. And the drinks all tasted off. Not sure if the syrups had problems or what but make sure you taste it before you leave.
You're better off eating at panda express if you want some fast...
