The interior is nice and quiet, quaint. They seated us and a gentlemen pulled out the chair for my wife which was nice. They light a candle on your table and our server brought out a fresh baked mini load of bread with butter and later brought garlic oil.
Our server was attentive and informed us of the daily dishes not on menu and we ordered fried calamari for the appetizer. The wife ordered a dish that comes with chicken and potatoes. I ordered the daily special which was red fish on a bed of linguini with muscles, shrimp, asparagus and tomatoes.
The fried calamari came out with marinara for dipping and it was without doubt the best calamari we have ever tasted. I thought calamari was supposed to be chewy. Turns out when done right it is tender as it can be. For ten bucks you get a large order with plenty for a party of four.
Next came our meals and they were both beautiful and delicious. The muscles and shrimp in my dish, were like the calamari, tender and cooked to perfection in wine sauce that was perfect. The wife's chicken was good as well with flavorful roasted potatoes. Our tab was seventy bucks which all things considered was not bad. My red fish plate was nearly forty bucks and I received a large piece of red fish, muscles and shrimp so I felt that was fair.
This place is too fancy for my taste, the food is great but I'm not a fancy guy so I felt out of place. That being said if you like good Italian you gotta give them a shot. I will be back for sure even if I don't...
Read moreNice environment, old school Italian look. Updated from the last time I was here about 4 years ago. Arrived at 7:30pm, seated right away. Drinks within 5 minutes, appetizer within 15 minutes. Main course 30 minutes total. Paid at 8:45pm Decent wine selection. Starter bread with little butter packets was ok. Would have preferred it to have a little crunch and whipped butter. Appetizer was great, simple but great. It was like a cordon bleu except it had asparagus instead of chicken. The little drizzle sauce was a great compliment, kind of a Dijon honey mustard. Main dish: I ordered two meals, one was the special and the other straight from the menu. Special: 10oz fillet with peppercorn sauce. I got it mid-rare as you should. Steak was cooked properly, a good mid-rare. The sauce was very good and complimented the steak well. It came with roasted new potatoes and fresh sauteed green beans. Both were cooked perfectly
Menu entree: Veal with bowtie pasta and fresh sauteed spinach. I thought that ordering this from the menu may throw them a curve ball, but they did a great job on the menu items as well.
Dessert: Tiramisu, creme brulee and bananas fosters are in-house. I got the creme brûlée and cannoli. Creme brulee was awesome. Cannoli was mediocre.
The staff was very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. Great meal and will definitely be back...
Read moreIf I could give a lower rating I would. To start, it was a nice dinner with a colleague, the food however... terrible! I can't express how disappointed I was. I judge an Italian restaurant on a short list, 1-Chicken Parm, 2- Pasta. 3- Sauce. I'm no fan of RAGU, I like an authentic Italian sauce... the sauce I had @ Manny's I think came out of a can, not just the bottom shelf stuff that says "Sauce" on the label but the other ones behind the cans on the bottom shelf of your local grocery store. The Pasta, I made a request for Angel hair, they didn't even have it. Instead served a Chicken Parm with a Penne. Never had it that way, probably never will again. It was a little over cooked the Penne kept breaking apart. The Chicken Parm was very bland, and a little rubbery and the breading just clumped off the entree. The place was crowded the entire time I was there so apparently I got the wrong thing or was just unlucky. What I did get was bad enough that I will never go again. I don't want to, but would pick Olive Garden or Fazzoli's...
