We had a reservation downstairs which had an amazing vibe to it. The music was calm and the service was 5/5 everything was brought in a timely manner. Salads were before the entire thank gosh because no one ever gets that correct. We had a couple cocktails from bonded on the rock, which sour, and a very refreshing drink named cucumber gimlet. 5/5 on the gimlet wow ⭐ Next is the entrees my husband had the ribeye med rare which looked and tasted phenomenal hats off to the chef.🥩⭐ Myself and our two friends had the chicken fried chicken which was horrible. It was extremely chewy and the breading was so thick. I expected more in as very disappointed. Restrooms are very clean. 5/5 My husband paid $200 which seems too much when my chichen was $38. His steak was $58 I believe. The steak was worth it not the chick. My friend and her husband paid the same and they both had chicken so I was a bit confused. But at the end of the day it was a beautiful establishment and the service was great. Just the food that made it give it 2 stars. Especially at those prices the chicken should have been amazing.

Having lived in Midland from 2010-2014, where there wasn’t much to offer. My daughter worked an internship and took me to Opal’s Table her last night. It’s great to see Midland thriving with new restaurants and bars. The atmosphere was modern with a touch of industrial. We downstairs at the bar. At first service was acceptable but then took a turn for the worst :( Food was great! Filled with great flavor and came out fast. Service continued to decline. When spending over $200 at a restaurant I expect to receive remarkable service. That's not the case at Opal's. Our bartender was never around and had to be flagged down for another drink. The most disappointing part is there were two other girls working behind the bar who lacked team work. We ask one of the other girls for a drink. She looked at us and walked away. If only these bartenders knew that they would make more money working as a team. Had we received good service, our bill would have been much higher 😬. Overall, great restaurant and great location. Maybe service will improve overtime. I’ll always tip appropriately to service.

I liked the restaurant, and very clean, and decent design. Very busy, loud, but heard it had decent eats. First off, no soup at dinner? Whaaaat? No steak? Whaaaat? Brussel sprouts were burnt, and not green lol. Mash was a little bland. My boss wanted a steak and salad only but they brought him sides...waitress forgot about us. Some other waiter just dropped off the food and no one asked if we needed anything. At least we didn't have to pour our own wine? He wanted to leave a better tip, but he's been there previously and think they must have gotten a new cook, and new waiters--and was super upset because he recommends the place to everyone that comes in on business. Waitress was nice, just didn't serve us...try again next time I visit for a different experience??

Restaurant was slow, and yet, so was the service for some reason. Had to tell the server to take our order 20 minutes after we got the appetizers. She was sweet but clearly poorly trained. My party was there for well over two hours. Should have been an hour max.

Appetizers, we had the cheese plate and sprouts, both were excellent. I had the Farmer’s Salad as a starter which was fresh and very tasty. For dinner I had the redfish. For some reason, it was served in a bowl which made it very difficult to use the knife seeing as the fish was too tough to peel off with a fork. Overall, the appearance of the dish was bizarre. Basically a bowl filled with orange sauce and buried under were some black eyed peas, no flavor, redfish, overpowered by too much sauce, and shrimp, obviously frozen.

Seeing as good as the app and salad was and the ridiculous wait, I was quite disappointed with this dish. Other members of my party had steak and chicken fried steak. My buddy’s steak was MW (slight pink) when ordered MR (warm red). Everyone who had CFS raved about it however. They also have an excellent wine selection and a creative cocktail menu.

All this being said, I would not choose to eat here again, it’s frankly way too expensive for such banal food...
