SHIER'S PASTIES & MORE — Restaurant in Midland

Yesterday was a very difficult day. I was sent to the ER by my doctor. My family was out of town and I had to do this alone -in fear. I stopped by SHIER'S PASTIES & MORE to grab a couple meals my family could warm up while waiting for me to be admitted. Well, due to confusion and stress -I left my wallet at home. I tried all the apps to pay, but nothing was working in my favor. I think my brain wasn’t working to be honest. And here are the owners to say: please take these meals, you have enough stress today. At first, my pride was embarrassed. But then I remembered myself -not long ago, a a business owner -giving things. Helping people. And in my work now, as a Death Doula -I give. So I accepted the meals. And today when I finally was able to receive help with the app online. I thought of the owners sweet face. She was the kindest, most beautiful spirit. As I had a bite of that meal, I could tell it was made with pure love. May the great creator bless this business. For they are doing everything right in the world. So many delicious looking choices! Normally when I visit a deli I simply order an Italian sandwich. After reading the menu with all the choices I ordered the Italian! I wasn't disappointed. It was big enough for lunch and dinner. Hubby ordered the Marquette Co. sausage (can't remember the odd name they had) and he really liked it. I tasted it and it was good but didn't seem to have a lot of flavor for me. They make the sausage themselves too. The chili he ordered was however very delicious.

I wouldn't mind returning and actually trying something else. The price though is a bit high for sandwiches. Two sandwiches, two sodas and a small chili came to $31. However, the sodas were the least expensive at $1.50 each so it was the actual food that was costly.

The interior is very casual with low and high top tables. The staff is very friendly and seem to really like their own food because whatever I mentioned she said "I would recommend that". 🙂

Swung thru on a whim for the first time and got a Turkey Club and a side of potato salad. Potato salad met the standard for being good. Turkey club was a solid option, everything on the sandwich tasted fresh and of high quality. My only complaint about the sandwich was that it was served warm instead of cold, which isn’t my personal preference for a club sandwich. It definitely won’t stop me from going back and trying more off the menu though - it’s undoubtedly a top notch deli.
