Rutba Indian kitchen — Restaurant in Midlothian

Finally an awesome Indian restaurant in Midlo. We’ve been waiting for more options and Rutba does not disappoint. It’s definitely in my top 2 Indian restaurants in RVA. Delicious Indian food with excellent service and ambience. We went for lunch and the food was amazing. You can clearly tell that they use high quality ingredients. Also, for lunch they provide a soup or salad, garlic/plain naan and dessert with any entree of choice. That is great value for money. The food itself was fresh and robustly flavored without being too spicy. My wife and I will be coming back again, especially for date nights. I also love the fact that the menu has some new dishes that I haven’t seen at other Indian restaurants in RVA. The ambience is unlike any other Indian restaurant in RVA. It’s spacious, bright and the decor is excellent. Great job on the interior design.

Chilli Gobhi and Rechado Shrimp for appetizers. Delhi style Butter Chicken and Lamb Rogan Josh for mains. We chose the lentil soup and garlic naan to go with it, which was included with the price along with a creamy fruit dessert.

Definitely a must try restaurant for everyone in RVA, but especially if you live in Midlothian.

Decided to try this new Indian restaurant in Midlothian. The restaurant is very nice inside and certainly has a more upscale feel to other Indian restaurants in the area. Food was very good and authentic. Definitely the best in the area. The samosas were crispy and the Aloo Tiki was excellent though definitely was what I would consider a shareable appetizer being on the larger size. We were both really impressed with the tamarind sauce which was the best we have had since moving to the area. The curries were fab and the chicken was very tender while the nann bread melted in your mouth. The whole meal was very good. My only issue was the service was definitely lacking. The bar had no beer on tap and bar service was slow. The waitress forgot our Nann breads and we had virtually finished the meal before they arrived. Hopefully these are just minor issues that will improve with time as the restaurant has only been open a few weeks. Overall highly recommend and will be back but service...
