Great Harvest Bread Company is not friendly to people of color! Please take your business elsewhere as this establishment does not treat every customer equally and fairly! My mother and I have attended this store multiple times and have received terrible customer service each visit. Today was our limit, as we were barely greeted and assisted. When we received assistance, the store manager walked away from us assuming we completed our order and left to attend to another customer! This customer was already being attended to as she was checking out products. After, the manager ran straight to the back and we didn't see him since. Another employee then offered us assistance, after we stood and waited for 10 minutes! It is not a coincidence that each time we attend this store, the staff Is slow to assist us or leave at the drop of a hat to assist a customer that looks like them. We have even experienced the staff partaking in small conversations amongst each other, with no other customers around and they still are slow to assist us! After telling one of the employees our experience today, she kept insisting they were short staffed and what could she give us free for to have a better experience. No product, gift card, or beverage can replace the proper customer service my mother and I deserved as paying customers! We were not demanding an apology, but rather accountability to their actions for not serving us properly! If you do not look like the staff, it's advised to go elsewhere. Today was our last try to have this company prove us wrong, but they have shown time and time again they do not care to serve customers who are of color. I will not be returning and let people within the community...
Read moreMy daughter and I went in for Lunch today it was approx 1pm. We were greeted right away by a polite cashier. She let us know they only had 2 flavors of bread left white and sour dough, which is fine we love sour dough. My daughter got the grilled cheese and I decided on the Peanut butter with “seasonal” jelly. I watched as my sandwich was being prepared and it had really turned me off. The worker was spreading peanut butter with a plastic eating utensils on the bread with no gloves on. It was from a large container of JIF I then watched her use the “seasonal” jelly which was plain old smuckers. I was hoping for a more elevated experience. the young girl making my sandwich had no hairnet on , hair hanging down. I observed both the cashier and other sandwich maker touching their phone , drinking and eating right at the handsink. I did notice an owner or a manager alert the sandwich maker to wash her hands. This could be a really nice place to go but I felt basic food safety needs more of a focus and for the price of the food it could have more...
Read moreI regularly enjoy the hospitality offered at this great little cafe. The staff couldn't be friendlier, and if I ask a question someone can't answer, THAT person keeps asking until the answer is found. 😊Today's hospitality was no exception. On the taste bud side of things, one of our party of 5 enjoyed delicious chicken salad, and if you like it firm, not wet and runny, you'll be a fan. The breakfast sandwich was also a hit, as well as my simply made, but done just right, yogurt parfait. I washed it down with a cup of dark, locally roasted Lamplighter coffee and was well satisfied. One item not enjoyed was the broccoli cheddar soup. Though it had good texture and portion size, it was rather bland. Oh well. The bread of course, was fresh baked and yummy, and the fresh brewed iced tea also satisfied. And who doesnt like a deal? I got to bring home the hearty pumpernickel loaf that was 2 days too old for 1/2 price. Yay! All together a great experience and value. I shall...
