It was my turn to pick where we would eat out tonight. I chose this restaurant Wilson's Seafood and grill. We arrived on the outside it appears as an old beautiful chapel. When you step in it is amazing and beautiful. Savannah our waitress was so polite and kind. She was excellent and a good communicator. La bomba is on menu. My husband's favorite from back when David's restaurant was open. It closed during the pandemic. Talking with Savannah we learned the son of the owner of David's, Shawn opened Wilson's Seafood and grill in May 2023 here in Midlothian. We were so happy to hear this. Since moving to Alvarado last month we've been trying out restaurants. So happy we found this excellent restaurant. Shawn has a beautiful picture of his dad on the wall. We were never disappointed in David's and we are not disappointed in Wilson's, and neither will you. Wilson's Seafood and grill. Try it for yourself. Shawn looks good and he still goes around communicating with customers to ensure satisfaction. My husband got La bomba appetizer and fried seafood platter and some fried oysters. I got crab cakes for my appetizer and Shrimp Pasta Sergio with shrimp, andouille sausage, and Tasso ham with pasta in an Alfredo sauce. Everything was excellent. Definitely will be back. Prices are reasonable. Also, you get a real glass of tea, and it wasn't some small 8 or 12 oz glass that you have to wait for refills....
Read moreGreat new place in the restored founders row, Midlothian, converted the old Chirch into a full service retaurant. My wife and I went for a date night here. For having only recently opened, this place is great. They accommodated plenty of larger parties as well as couples well. It was a little warm on the inside for June, but with an open kitchen and a healthy amount of patrons, it's to be expected. My wife had the gumbo and said that it passed the test, high praise from a Louisiana girl. In her own words, "Great flavor, not too much heat, the ocra was a nice touch." I had the fish platter, everything blackened. The scallops were easily the best, succulent, and full of flavor. Shrimp and tilapia were good but were outshine by the scallops. Slaw was sweet, with a lot of crunch. We topped off the night with some bread pudding. It was good, but I have had better, unfortunately. All in all, it was a great experience and a welcome addition to Founder's Row. We will definitely be back. If you go, ask for Reese. He gave us great information about the menu and was a pleasant and seasoned server. He also gave us the inside scoop that during a lunch hour, you can "hear your own thoughts and not...
Read moreShort wait so over to the bar got a round of drinks. Out of house margaritas so next choice but to get the patron. Would’ve been nice if they added the patron to the drink. Over 30 for the 2 and almost 50 when you add a glass of wine and a bottle of beer whew. No appetizer this time but some of them looked really good. The cedar plank salmon was as good as advertised. The chicken sandwich huge and big helping of fries. And the pasta with shrimp, sausage and ham. So good! Lightly swimming in a flavorful sauce. And Sarah took great care of us. Really friendly on top of everything all with a big smile. Seemed very reasonably priced for the food and will be back to try other offerings. Oh and the shrimp spread that she brought us. I could’ve had just that. Slight hint of horseradish so good. Try this place out. Return trip- firecracker shrimp appetizer and this time they had the house margaritas. Chicken sandwich was huge. And the seafood platter with oysters was really tasty. Plenty of each scallops shrimp catfish and oysters and came out hot. Could use a little more of the dipping sauces. We also were out on the patio service was great...
