Sexton's is easily in my top 5 pizza shops in Columbus, partly because it's not just another Columbus style pizza joint (don't get me wrong, I love a good 614 pie and will gladly down some Tommy's or Teritas). To put the quality in perspective, the first time my wife and I tried a Sexton's pizza we ended up ordering again the next day. Ingredient quality is top tier which lends itself to one of my favorite things about their pies, which is balance. The flavors don't overwhelm, nothing is too salty, the sauce isn't too sweet, spices bite just enough, so you won't wake up thirsty in the morning. Speaking of the next morning, I also measure pizza by how it is cold the next and they pass this test with flying colors. Crust options are something I strongly suggest exploring here because you have three to choose from: hand tossed, Motown, and Sicilian. You'll get the same base flavor in all of these and none of them are bad. Hand tossed has a nice flop, just enough of a crust to feel a brief crunch before you hit the soft interior, and it's not greasey (btw pizza shouldn't be greasey and it's an indication of ovens that aren't up to the task). Motown may not be what you expect: it's thicker than hand tossed, stretched into a rectangle, but it's not cooked in a buttered up pan. If you're looking to have a thicker more doughy pie it might be what you seek. Last and certainly not least is Sicilian (pictured): by weight alone it probably weighs double what the others do and it is so, so, good. It's an incredibly soft yet dense crust, by the time you reach the edges you'll be glad the toppings aren't edge to edge because you'll be greeted by more crunch and chew. It's an extra $2 but you'll know where those $2 went when you take the first bite. Appetizers. I haven't worked through all of these yet. Like the rest of their menu I suspect there are no bad options. Skillet knots are a good starting point and they properly let you appreciate the sauce, and it tastes like very fresh tomato. The wings are excellent as are the house made dressings to dip them in. Drinks. Yeah, don't forget to check these out. Conveniently, they have nice sealed up containers so there's no chance of spilling and you could let them roll around the floor of your car without having to worry. Dump them into a glass of ice when you get home and enjoy your little ticket to flavor country. Not sure where to start? Kevin Bacon. The candied bacon kicks everything up another notch as it's sweet and smokey. If you want a more conservative approach the cup and burn pepperoni won't do you wrong. Don't let the name mislead you either, it cups and gets crispy like it should rather than actually being charred. Sexton's has become our Friday night ritual for the past couple of months now because it's difficult to get tired of. I can't recommend them enough, and you're showing a deserving local business some love.

This one was pretty straightforward. Atmosphere is what you would expect out of a new York style pizza shop. Smaller, slightly dated, and “dingy” but not gross by any means. It’s exactly what I would have expected for what it is. Service was good and the cashier was friendly and helpful. All smiles and didn’t seem to hate her job which was nice. Even accommodated half/half pizza for the kids. For food we got the ny style pizza and picked the Smokey Robinson, half no jalapeños for the little ones. The pizza was fresh, hot, and hate a good crunch. Just good classic pizza that I would eat over and over again. We also got the garlic knots which were tasty and the marinara sauce was well seasoned. The knots were soft and warm with good flavor. Though I think they forgot about them and brought the pizza out then finally brought the knots which I would have liked to have it together or the knots first it’s not a bad enough mistake to impact me returning.

Mixed Experience - Tasty Pizza, But Long Wait and Loud Atmosphere I was excited to try Sexton's Pizza but didn't receive my food until an hour after the estimated pickup time. The wait was frustrating, especially with a crowded and noisy dining area. However, the pizza itself was delicious! We ordered two deep-dish pepperonis, a Bee Bee Q pizza, and a Margherita pizza. The pepperoni was a standout. The mason jar of ranch for $8 was phenomenal - seriously, the best ranch I've ever had. Overall, the pizza was great, but the long wait time and loud atmosphere detracted from the experience. Pro-tip: Go an hour after the pickup time they give you to avoid waiting.

Been meaning to try Sexton's for a while now and finally got a chance today. The kids and I did a hike at Blendon Woods and then went to the location in Gahanna.

With the kids, everything has to be half cheese. We ordered their Motown crust and traditional crust. Both were amazing. The Motown crust is my preferred pizza having grown up on Buddy's pizza in Michigan. Light and fluffy. Crispy edges. The sauce was very flavorful and just a tad sweet. Half was their 614 with Ezzo pep, bacon and banana peppers. Very good. I actually liked the cheese a bit more but probably bc it hit that Buddy's nostalgia for me. Opted for the larger of their two Motown sizes. It was plenty, but we had to try the regular crust too.

The regular crust was better than anticipated. It was thin, the bottom a perfect crisp, and had a nice chew. Perfectly sauced and cheesed, no need for extras. Half was the Meatless in Seattle which is loaded with veggies. Again, the crust is just perfect. Everything you want it to be.

We ordered a house salad which was a 7 from my daughter and an A from my son. The crispy Ezzo pepperonis on it were a hit. Iceberg lettuce but everything else was good.

Can't recommend this place enough. The Gahanna location is very small but had a bar, two huge TVs, and plenty of beer selections. Worth the drive and checking it out. We'll be back when my Michigan family visits....

Tried calling sextons in gahanna at 6pm tonight (4 hours before they close)… tried calling for 15 minutes non-stop… no one picks up. We then decide to drive to sextons in gahanna and get there about 6:45… approach the counter and told the young lady that we wanted to place a to-go order…. Only to be told that they were sold out…… sold out…… 3 hours before they close…. I have never in all my experiences with any pizza shop been told that they were sold out of pizza. Including when sextons used to be In Reynoldsburg…. They were really good when they first opened in reynoldsburg but as time went on the quality of the food and service went down. We have not ordered from them since they left reynoldsburg…but tonight we were feeling nostalgic and decided to go out of our way to get it….. only to be told they were sold out at 6:45 on a Friday night. Not sure what the business plan is… but this was a last chance for us and we will not be back.

Amazing to me that a factual statement and honest criticism has been met with childish comments and statements like that below. No one is trying to tear down a business… completely ignoring the fact that I supported this business for years before they moved.. without a single “sold out” and constantly answering their phones…. But when honest feedback is given about an experience.. they have only slander to offer...
